Is flu vaccine available from Canada OP or IOPs?
      #195339 - 10/21/04 02:55 PM

Does anyone know if this years flu vaccine might be available thru a Canadian OP or anywhere? I am in one of the risk groups but apparently not high enough risk and not over 65. My doctors office doesn't have any anyway! I have received the flu shot every year for 14 yrs now and really afraid of going without.

probably not, but if an iop claimed to offer it, i wouldn't trust it. in my life i have only had one flu shot. this was about 5 years ago. that was also the last time i ever caught the flu. and this was after i got that flu shot. haven't come down with it since. (knock on wood). go figure.........

if you are physically healthy and relatively young, i wouldn't worry too much about not getting it this year.

cheers, c.(angel)

No - you would have to go to a health clinic in Canada and receive the injection there. There is something very odd about this vaccine shortage - don't even want to "go there" - but Canada has NO shortage, the UK has none, no where in Europe is there a shortage - ONLY this country. Maybe I know too much for my own good..........

No - but "they" are mucking around with gene transferring from 1918 version of that deadly flu epidemic - this is going on in Madison, WI. They have reduced the biohazard level from 4 (highest - no possibility of escape)down to 3.
WHY are they mucking around with the genes of a deadly strain of flu - and why is there a flu vaccine shortage here and only here???

OK - take it a step further - they are also predicting a shortage next year - big pharm "they" say don't make enough profits from this. Soooooooo - what happens if a deadly flu sweeps this country - it will kill off the elderly and those with compromised immune systems - most of whom are collecting Social Security which is in much bigger trouble than most people know about.

Summation - if all the elderly succumb to a "deadly" flu epidemic and all of those collecting SS disability from compromised immune systems - think how much money the government will save - and THEN Bush and company can go ahead with their grand scheme of "privatizing" social security for all younger people - isn't that grand - trust the government to invest your money for your "old age" - IF you live that long - to those wonderful scammers in Wall Street.

I KNOW what I am talking about as far fetched as this may sound to many of you - have a few "friends" out there who work in research etc - and they are all saying the same thing.

Conclusion - if you are old and sick you are a "useless" eater - Henry K coined that phrase when he was secy of state under Nixon. BUT you can bet you last cent that none of the old coots still floating around - Bush Sr, Kissinger and these marvelous people will ever get the "deadly" flu...

OK am now waiting for those of you who will call me a total headcase - but remember if it looks like a duck, quacks like a duck - then it "ain't a zebra"!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
