i know there have been problems with the "off topic" section of the board and i don't blame admin for removing it after all of the complaints they have probably had to deal with concerning the flame wars and general disorderly conduct connected with it.
but i just wanted to mention that i do miss "happy hour". for me it was like the cyber equivalent of "recess". i thought it was neat place to go to get a little chuckle. after all, it has been deemed that "laughter is the best medicine" and isn't that what we're all here for? not to mention that in addition to making one feel better, laughter is free! no customs risks here.
i am, however, pleased that it is still in the vip side. looks like i'll be spending a lot more time there which is probably a good thing anyway as i don't spend near enough time there as i should considering the great resources on that side. this might be a blessing in disguise for me, but i was wondering if it would still be feasible to reintroduce "happy hour" to the free side. just a suggestion.....

Hi Angelwolf!  (there are lots of 'Angels' here,I see!!)
I too, enjoyed the happy hour section of this board. After reading some of the bad experiences with different OP's on the board, it did tend to give a little "relief", to the ups and downs of findng the right OP, or with some of the problems that folks have had with some pharmacies etc.
To get a few laughs was very nice, as I have always enojoyed the old saying, "jogging on the inside"...lol 
Its nice to know however, that being a a VIP allows us to have that little 'jog'. It really does help to laugh when the pain sets in. I personally think it helps us to occupy our minds off the pain, if only for a few minutes or so!
Perhaps if politics hadnt become such an issue in that type of thread, it would still be here?!
Perhaps if it were re-introduced as "Jokes and Humor Only", that would help! Ofcourse this is JMHO.
HMMMM..VIP? Sounds like a nice place to visit!
I may just pay for a month or so, to see the difference!

thanks to all of you for your support on this subject. i hope the moderators of db take all of this into consideration.
and to my sister, angel , thank you for your kind words. your post was a great read as well.
the vip board is great! and if you use domestic ops, there are a lot of discounts available which more than offset the cost of membership. there are even some iops that give you vip discounts like ols4u and ourrx4less. lots of resources on that side. plus, the dues help keep this board open. and, lol, no, i do not work for db. maybe i'll meet you on the other side!

I miss it so much too! I used to check it every day because there was a user (can't remember his name) who had the FUNNIEST medical jokes, and he had them all and now theyre gone...it used to make my day!
