My boyfriend lifts weights!
      #194784 - 10/19/04 12:49 PM

My boyfriend lifts weights. Can anyone recommend any herbs or vitamin supplements that help build muscle tissue? Also,, where can we get them. We also might be interested in steroids. I know some of the mexican pharmacies sell them. If anyone can advise, I would appreciate it.

try and have him stay away from Juice (roids) real bad for the system and once you are off them you lose a lot of what you gained. I would recomend going to GNC and getting amino acids or protein powder shakes.
When I was out of the military (ex SF's) I wasn't used to eating so much after working out hard which we did almost every minute. I started some protein shakes and got a nice cut and strength naturally, I was real impressed and with running to I was able to keep my weight decent.
I just think the whole idea of roids is so scary, side affects later in life.

I had several friends were into roids when they were like 17-25 years old and are paying for it now

JMO but i think this is a terrible idea. i am a female and i am unsure if females take them too but i have to admit that i agree with the two gentlemen above my post. i just think that you need to go into GNC and get him on protein shakes. i work with a guy who works out probably 4 times a week, eats 3 times and drinks 3 protein shakes a day and has had incredible results. i have to say that from the stories i hear, you probably won't want to be around your boyfriend if he ever does start taking roids because they do get vicious "roid rage". good luck!

Thank you so much for your posts. My boyfriend has been working out for a long time now, and I think he looks great!
He got this steroid thing into his head and I've been trying to convince him otherwise. I purposely made this post this afternoon because I knew you guys would come through for me. If he saw it in print from someone other than me he would change his mind. Even if I did know where to get them, I wouldn't order them anyway! I told him he should be lucky he's in good health! There are so many people on this board that are in pain (me included) that would rather not be taking meds if they didn't have to, why would he want to destroy his body (and mind) with steroids. After reading your posts we agreed to go tomorrow to GNC and look into some of the amino acids that are supposed to help build muscle tissue. Thanks again, it's great to have you guys to depend on. Once again, you came through for me....

I have couple of urls for your boyfriend and you to check out for purchasing supplements and herbs .http://www.bulknutrition.com has a good selection of supplements and herbs .They also have a forum for discussing the supplements ,plus they have a good selection of articles on supplements.http://www.dpsnutrition.net has a good selection of supplements and cheaper prices on most of thier products than bulknutrition not to say that bulknutrition prices are high either .They both have a big selection of BB type supplements .These are not AAS sites or drug sites . I am hoping to place a order soon at one the sites if not both myself soon.I am strong believer in taking multi-vitamins and other types of supplementation to stay healthy .

I had an x-boyfriend who had a beautiful body. No steroids, but he used to drink this stuff called Creatine. he thought it worked wonders. But that was just his opinion. I have never tried it. I know you can get it in different flavors too...

As a guy, I feel that using steroids is extremely careless and dangerous. If a man must use these to get the desired body he wants, then the body is in fact not his at all but a product of drugs injected into ones system.

I also feel the same about implants. I would never be with a woman who felt the need to artificially increase the size of her breasts so that she felt better about herself. I know there might be a rare exception but very few.

Thanks for letting me post my feelings. This is an excellent topic.

Yes creatine is a good supplement if your looking to gain muscle mass, and without the bad side effects of steroids. It basically hydrates your muscles so that they can work harder/longer. I was looking into it cause I work out occasionally BUT I don't think I work out enough to merit that...it makes you put on some weight supposedly.

I really hope your boyofriend takes the advice of all these good people who posted in this thread. Steroids are dangerous. I saw a documentary on HBO (I believe) about them and what happened to these guys was very frightening. Rages, damage to body organs and even death. Shudder...

Reokie, I have to admit I've always toyed with the idea of boob implants but would never do it. I am not into putting anything artificial into my body for cosmetic purposes. I really think those things are going to come back to bite many women in the butt, as far as their health. I have heard the horror stories of the old silicone gel implants and having them leak. Of course if a woman has breast cancer and decides on reconstruction, I do not consider that cosmetic at all. If a woman wants an implant or implants to even things out after breast surgery, I think she should go for it. Actually I think any woman should go for it if she wants them, but they aren't for me. Besides my hubby is like you. He would hate it if I did that. He's already told me that.

Using roids is a no win situation. I knew guys that played college ball and swore they had to take them in order to compete. They played on a football team that is nationally ranked year in and year out. Apparently it is widely abused by guy's in the SEC, Big 12, etc. (Not a fact just what I've been told) Anyways these guys I knew were absolute maniacs. Complete loose cannons. It was pretty sad because I saw the before and after effects on their bodies and minds. Your boyfreind will eventually loose the mass he'll quickly gain and will be a complete mental case. These aren't even the bad side effects. Stay away from the juice.
