80% is what the generics are ! WOW, I have almost always used the generic for valium (diazipan) no wonder its more expensive on sites, I notice Valium is much more pricey than diazipan but I didn't figure that the generic diazipan was less potent. Not sure, since I am used to the generic, why pay the extra price.
Interesting info though, thanks!

Yes I was told by 2 differetn doctors in real life, 2 pharmacists in real life and then read a govt. website online. All these sources said generics are only 80% as potent as name brand. My father goes to Veterans clinic and was also told this there. as far as in buying domestic without insurance I'd say that the HUGE inflation for name brands is not worth it unless of course you just got money to burn There is also "binding" or soemthing in alot of meds that control the release or soemthign liek that and that the generics can have less good binders or binding is also what I read. I am not 100% on the whoel binding thing. But I swear the 80% thing has been told to me by several docs & pharmacists who were all personal long time family friends.

that's just my opinion anyways

I would say remember when reading the info. on the above links however that they are for the "USA". Who knows exactly what stadards and equivalences etc. must be met when using IOP'S. Even though they are a known generic name, the plants they use in foreign countries, correct me if I'm wrong don't have to follow the same guidelines do they?

Just my opinion and also curiosity too. Joanne
