You sound like me. I really like ambien too as long as I don't take it nightly, then I start having some symptions that were a bit unpleasant. No all the stuff you mentioned does not work for me either. Xanax puts me to sleep, but I really built a high tolerance for it so that was no good. I like your hammer idea, maybe that will do it.

Has anyone had experience with Dalparan, the Spanish version of zolpidem ?
I have a question about the appearance of the tablets. I know Ambien 10 mg are scored with "AMB 10", and according to the Stilnox presentation sheets I found on Google, Stilnox are scored "SN 10"...what do Dalparan tablets look like? Any help greatly appreciated.

Sorry I can't help you with your zolpidem. Did you try googling "dalparan" to lok for pix? I know I recently had a brand called "Zolpidem Norman," and they were just little white round pills, nothing at all like US Ambien.
One important selling point for Ambien (I swear someone mentioned it already) is to take it on an empty stomach. Surprised you didn't jump on that lawkaw! Either half an hour before or two hours after, and this is no joke. Taking Ambien with food doesn't merely reduce the speed with which it's absorbed, but also the total amount absorbed/
I myself have never cared for Ambien. It takes a really strong drug to knock me out and US brand Ambien has NOT shown itself up to the task, even taken in dosages higher than reccomended than the PDR. I've been muchmore successful with benzodiazepenes--triazolam (halcion) inparticular.
I'm pretty sure that Halcion is no longer produced and sold under it's original name, but ther are a number of generics available. If one had the opportunity to combat insomnia armed only with Geneva or Sandoz (Purepac), I can understand why they might make a blanket statement such as "Ambien is sooo much stronger than Halcion."
But, then, I'll be the one in the other corner whispering, "You know, European Ambien is so much better than the American stuff.!

I AM THE INSOMIC QUEEN AND I HAVE TO BE AT WORK AT 7 IN THE MORNING. I use Zolpidem from gegapharma and one and ahalf works for me along with a 2mg zanax. I've been at this for years. I like the Sonata also. And my DR has given me halcion before, it works, but I hate to go to him, he gives no refills so I have go back every month. I'm not going to do that.
I've have the forgeting problem with Ambien and I've had it with Ativan also. Ativan and White Russians will really make you forget, lol.
I'm the one with the 70 year old mother that lives with me. She takes her night meds (like mother like daughter) and gets real sentamental and tells me she loved me and stuff. It runs in the family I think. My son has problems sleeping also.

European Ambien? Are you serious? I've never heard of European Ambien? What is the difference? How in the world could I possibly obtain some? Have you tried this?

I tried that once, mainly because there is science of putting some drugs under the tounge. However, it didn't do anything but gross me out. The only way I have been able to take it is the usual way, on an empty stomach no less. If you are hungry also, fine, just wait for the med to take effect and then get a bite and go to bed...but be warned, you might wake up with a little bit of the food in bed with you and you wondering how the heck it got there. Ambien is bad for us who like late night eating...pizza is the bomb at 2am.

I ALWAYS chew up my meds instead of swallowing them whole. In my mind, they just work faster that way. Many a bitter pill out there, but some are sweet...you'd be surprised.
When I do have a little pill or even my usual hydro, I do try to get it under my tongue...just faster (in my mind) ingestion...

I wonder if they went out of business. I got one order from them, and when I tried to order again, they had a sign on thier front page that sayd closed for some time... Now the web site is filled with some foreign garbage...here is some of the garbage I mean...
Tenemos una larga histoia. (must mean this op is history)
Sin embargo, no vamas a decircles la maravillosos y creativas que podemos ser. (That must mean our shipments were stopped by the marvalous us border, as we weren't creative enough to stop them)
Anyway, seriously...what is the scoop on this op? One order, great product and I do want to reorder...

Maybe it's just psychosomatic, but I feel like European-made zolpidem (like Stilnox) has much stronger effects for me than US-made Ambien. It feels VERY different. Much more intense, and I get far more dissociated and confused.
I think Stilnox and Ambien are made by the same company (correct me if I'm wrong) but could their formulation be different?
I also agree about taking it on an empty stomach.

Attention all insomniacs!!
This site has the absolutely lowest prices on Ambien on the entire world wide web. Plus I placed an order and received it in not even 2 weeks. Extremely happy with this transaction. Packaged well, not opened or damaged in any way. If you need something this place is worth a try.

I've got some of that, 10 mg. I've never taken zolpidem before, so have nothing to compare it with.
Fell asleep nicely on half, but woke up 4 hrs. later, took the other half, slept another 4 hrs.
I was also taking phentermine at the time, hence the need for a sleep aid!
I stopped the phentermine over a week ago, still not sleeping well, but only taking the zolpidem when desperate, don't want it to lose effectiveness. So far it works fine, I take the 10 mg. all at once, sleep 8 hrs, feel fine next day. No strange side effects so far. I've had 3 restful nights that way!
Does anyone know if there is any problem with taking phentermine & zolpidem? I plan to go back on phentermine in about 2 weeks, 30 mg. a day. Zolpidem supposedly should not be used more that 7 days in a row. I'm trying to work out a plan that bypasses tolerance but helps me sleep once in awhile.

Your using phentermine as a sleeping agent? It is used for weight control, and if you remember its half of the infamous phen-fen, or something like, that was taken off the shelf.. In fact, here is a copy and paste from rxlist.com about this med...
"Exogenous Obesity: One capsule at approximately 2 hours after breakfast for appetite control. Late evening medication should be avoided because of the possibility of resulting insomnia."
So if I read that right, the medication causes insomnia, so if your using it to get some sleep, it might explain your lack of success.
About the Ambien, I have taken it for many years, off and on that is.....much more on then off. I had a small arguement with my Doctor about it. My question was, Ambien is only supposed to be taken a few days, why? "Because you will get addicted to it." was his answer. Ok, does it do harm to you? He said, no, but the longer you take it, the more addictive it will be. So my thing is, as long as it works, why can't you take it for the rest of your life? He said although it wont physically hurt you, it will mask the real reasons you have the problem in the first place.
So the bottom line is, screw the seven day thing, as long as it works, why not???
I can't answer your question about using both, because I have never done so, but it would seem that if the Phentermine would cause insomnia, and the ambien helps you fight that, your at a leval plane...and just might have to take another ambien to put you more into the sleepy side.. Taking both, however, is not reccommended. I accidently took both and was a loopy moron, according to my wife.

Of course I'm not taking phentermine for sleep!!!
When I take phentermine (at 7 am) I have trouble sleeping that night. But I have lost 50 lbs in the last 2 yrs using exercise, Weight Watchers with intermitant help from phentermine. I go on & off it to prevent tolerance & to get some sleep.
Phentermine was not the problematic part of the phen-fen scandal.
Thanks for responding. So ambien is too addictive to use for more than 7 days. I was afraid of that.

teddybeardj, Besides becoming dependent on ambien if taken for long periods I think there would be a tolerance issue. If you take it long enough and a tolerance developes it may become ineffective, even at high doses. Of course I am not sure of this. Just an oppinion.

I get it...thanks for correcting what I was thinking. Yes, it is addictive, I freely admit that. And one guy points out that if you take it too long, it becomes less effective, and sometimes I wonder about that. I sometimes take one and a half, and it works quicker. But the next day I take only one, it still works...so I really question the effective thing.

Has anyone tried the Somit brand of zolpidem, made by Gador in Argentina?
I've heard good things about Gador's alprazolam (Xanax) generic called Alplax, so I'm wondering if their Somit is equally as good quality too.

How effective is ambien, I have big time insomnia. Is it safe to take with the hydrocodone I take for my pain?? I wonder if it would be effective, I have a very high tolerance for medication. After my surgery, my doctore had me on 45mg of hydrocodone evry 6 hrs and that was after leg surgery nothing that was really bad

I find Ambien incredibly effective. A caution: when it begins to work, it hits me like a ton of bricks -- quickly and deeply. As soon as I take it, I get into bed because it's about 10-15 minutes before I am fast asleep for 7-8 hours of uninterrupted Z-Z-Z-z-z-z-z's!
