Hydro/Tem/Sub/Withdrawl Timing
      #190209 - 10/01/04 07:51 PM

Sorry with for the stupid question and could research it myself, but thought a quick answer from a smarter person....

is the active ingrediant in Tems that same as Sub? If so, what point in Hydro W/D do you recommend jumping in with the Tems? After complete stoppage of Hydro for 24 hours? 2 Days? While at the tail end of a taper? 15 mg a day for three days down from 60 mg daily lets say?

Or as a complete sub for hydro at the 60mg level?

Also, is subing another opiate (opiod) like codeine or morph for hydro in a med schedule the same as not taking the hydro in terms of body chemistry? If you substitute meth for hydro will you go into hydro withdraw? Or does the body recognize the two opiods as the same in the brain?

I understand this is non medical advice for the sake of discussion and that all variations of a medical regime should be after consulting with you doctor.

Thanks in advance for your knowledge.

when you use tem or sub, you quit cold turkey then use it, theres no taper in using it usually. 16 hours or greater since last dose. as long as you can go (SAFELY). the active in tem and sub is the same but sub has more, and one of the sub's has naltrexone to prevent injection/"abuse"

No, if you substitute one opioid for another you dont go into withdrawal, unless the dose of the second is way too low. its all in the dose amounts. switching from hydro to meth for example means you dont go through hydro withdrawal. the brain "sees it" as the same.

Tone thanks very much. A follow up question: if you substitute meth for hydro for a week, lets say, then stop meth (before depenence on meth kicks in) will you, in theory, bypass the worst of the hydro withdrawls since it has been 7 days since hydro ingestion?

Tone, thanks again.
