Flaming/Flame Wars
Flaming is reacting to someone's board posting or PM in a hostile manner by publicly chastising the person or bombarding the person with nasty posts or PM's. Flaming may occur to users that engage in behavior that violates what is considered proper board netiquette. A flame war occurs when two or more users flame each other in an escalating manner that threatens to continue unabated. If you notice a flame war developing just notify the moderator or adminitrator and let them handle it. Do not take part in flame wars. If you do you will be banned even if you did not start it :-)

Lorazepam (Ativan) Clonazepam (Klonopin) Effects
      #189729 - 09/30/04 10:00 AM

I know benzodiazpines can have different effects on different people but I'm trying to determine if some generic brands of Lorazepam and Clonazepam I've received are no good. I've experimented with a few dose levels, I'm finding to feel any effects I need to take at least 2mg of Ativan or 1mg of Clonazepam and the effect are very very mild. Even with a 2mg dose of Clonazepam I really didn't notice much but maybe this is just the characteristic of the drug, I felt just a very very mild sedated feeling and I thought 2mg of Clonazepam is suppose to be a very high dose? And this stuff is used for GAD in addition to seizures? On the Lorazepam 4mg is what I need to take to feel anything close to a significant effect (close to what 15mg or so of Valium feels like.)

Are the effects of these dosages not far off from what others feel or do I definitely have some bad/impotent generics on hand?

Jazee,
I've seen by your posting frequency that you have been experimenting a lot. You, my friend, are probably already experiencing some tolerance effects. These drugs have halflives as well that keep them in your system longer than you think. Take a few days break between each trial. If you are doing this than i apologize and keep up the testing. Everyone is a different bag of chemicals and psyches so you can't draw a straight line from one persons experiences to anothers. Best of Luck.

Good point. I've been laying off a few days inbetween trials over the past week or two but must admit the previous two days from trying the Clonazepam, I tried a 20mg of Valium the previous day, and a 3 mg dose of Ativan the day before that. But I would not expect tolerance to build that quickly unless there is a tolerance plateau, otherwise people would need to take much higher doses than I'm taking or at least the same does 3 times a fay instead of once to maintain a theraputic effect and keep increasing their dose!

A little fact that the drug manufacturers don't want you to know is that tolerance builds up incredibly fast as does dependance and addiction. Long halflives of Val and Clon leave you with a baseline floating in your body that you keep adding to. This can only add to tolerance. I'm not a doctor but if you have a medical condition, you should consult one (make that two) before deciding on desired effects and therapeutic doses. Be careful, soon you will need those meds even if you didn't originally plan it that way.
