I would like to try something for pain other than Hyrdocodone. I have tried Ultram. It was okay, and not habit forming IMO. But what about Butorphanol Nasal Spray?
Would I be less likely to have w/d's with this synthetic opioid? How does it compare to hydrocodone? Thanks for your help!

i have used it for headaches as well as my brother did and for me and him both that was the only thing that this med helped us for...IMO it didnt help with any other pain then the headache itself.

My ex father in law was first prescribed it for a foot injury he had. It helped himn for a very long time, but then I think he got addicted to it and eventually cut off from the doctors. I've taken great care in taking it for the last 9 yr for my migraines. I haven't tried to take it for any other pain, since my main problem is migraines. It works pretty good to keep me out of the ER. It's a strange medication though. Makes you feel really different. The first time I used it I got lost in my own home, and it wasn't a big house!

I understand that, I was at work one day and had one HUGE headache, one of my co-workers said" Here, blow your nose, then spray this one time in each side."
To say the least, the pain was gone, but it turned out to be a very non productive day for the last half.

Butophanol or Stadol (name brand) doesn't have too many w/d symptoms IMO. I have taken it for almost 15 years for my migraines. However it is very VERY additive. Much more than hydro. You can get hooked before you finish the first bottle. And unless you have a very understanding docotr and really good insurance, this stuff is quite expensipensive. But it is the best stuff out there for migraines. Works in about 15 minutes or less. As far as it working for other kinds of pain, the nasal spray probably won't. It comes in two other forms. IM and IV. IM you have to get from a local doc and I would assume it would treat other kinds of pain but I have never used it. IV you would have to get at a ER or hospital. That will treat any kind of pain. I was given it during labor and felt wonderful and that was serious pain. You can PM if you want some more info or if you want to know of some place to order from.
