Does anyone know which pharmacies have Mallies? I've ordered from Bi-wise and Woody's but they always send Watsons. Watsons give me insomnia.
Thanks!!!

Wow, it's usually Mallies that give patients the barfies and the $hit$. Weird. Other than the insomnia, how would you say the two brands compare?

I love mallies as well!! I find them to be way more effective than Watson.
I have received them from Woody's before--what I did was specify it when I ordered my refill from them. I would always fax my refill request to them, and in large capital letters I would write "PLEASE DISPENSE MALLINKRODT BRAND". Always got what I asked for.

I prefer Mallies, Watsons make me barf! And this is 7.5mg Watson vs. 10mg Mallies (so it's not from the hydro)
However, Mallies give me energy which I need (as well as pain relief)
Everyone is different.
I get Mallies from my local Rite-Aid, though. It seems OP's send Watsons.
Hope someone else can help

I didn't see your post Georgann. I guess I was typing mine. Can you request Mallies? I thought each pharmacy carries only one generic brand.
I'm an Ephy customer. Had two refills of Watson I let go and got my local doc (no insurance, so $150 + cost of meds) to rx it.
Now I read about shortages with Universal. Does anyone know if Universal will dispense Mallies?
Maybe I'll cancel my consult. Is Woodys an OP? I thought it was a dispensing pharmacy.
Any help would be great, thanks

Man, that's it, I want to try them. It's always been Watsons for me and I really don't know if they don't work for me because of tolerance or because of the specific composition of Watsons. They've never really worked well for me...
So, does anyone know if United carries Mallies? I'll try to contact them about it.

Back in my pre-OP days I received both Watson and Malli brand 7.5/500 strength hydro from my local supermarket pharmacy. One script it would be Watsons and the next Mallies. Anyway, the Mallies worked great. I wouldn't say they were better than the Watsons, but very good quality indeed. And no funny side effects either. IMHO, the Mallies get a bad rap. Folks are usually so used to Watson brand that they're suspicious of any other type. Having been used to both from the beginning helps to do away with any such paranoia. Oh well, these days I get my meds from UnitedRX and it's Watsons all the way.

As far as Watsons that don't work well for you, this is just a guess, but are you taking Watson 10/325's? If so you're not alone and it's NOT a tolerance issue. As for United, they only carry Watson brand. At least that's all I've ever received.

I agree that Mallies get a BAD RAP. I think they work great. To me as long as the meds are fresh it doesn't really matter whether its watson, mallies, qualitest etc. They are all good quality, pharmaceutical grade meds.
I think a more important factor is how they have been stored, how fresh they are etc.
good luck.

Yeah, I do take 10/325s - so the problem is that there isn't enough acetaminophen in them? I found that if I take a half of one, then the other half 20 minutes later, it works better than if I take a whole one at once (even if I split it and take both halves at once). Still, they don't hold a candle to taking 2 5/500s of any brand.
Thanks for the info on United, too!

Watsons are very week to me. I can always tell a nice increase in relief with Mallies over Watson. I have always prefer Mallies. Unless of course I can't get brand name. Mallies are the best Generic for me.

Thanks Georgann. I never thought of faxing my order. I had asked YOD to put on the initial script that I wanted mallies but they never came through.
For some reason, Mallies work so much better than Watson. No side effects at all. They are much stronger than Watson 10/325's.

Wow,, I'm glad someone else, actually several others felt this way about Mallies. I will take the Watsons for the obvious reasons, they are sent to me.. But I literally get sick along with a headache and end up getting 'sicker you know, bfing, with the watsons and also
get incredibly sleepy with Watsons. Strange, but not all the time does this happen, but depending on the OP/pharmacy this has happened many times. With Mallies, I get quick pain relief and energy that I need due to the pain and the 'drain'. My point here though, is I'm happy to 'hear' from those of you that experienced this same thing!

I think that everyone's chemistry is different. For most people, at least from what I've read, Watsons do a better job at pain management. Then there are a select few that like the mallies. I usually take my medication at night and feel much better the next day after taking Mallies. And they kick in faster and last longer. To each his own I guess....

I have always disliked hydro mallies in the past,(I think percocet mallies are fine.), however after reading all of these posts, I agree that it might not be the brand name, but how they were stored, how old they are, etc. I always get watsons now and I can have a script for one month and be just fine, but the next month, watsons will give me some side effects.
I have always been hard on mallies, however I think I will keep an open mind on this. pete.

My personal favorite is brand name 10/500 lortab.I always got kickbutt pain relief from them. They are pink and start to dissolve immediatly when placed on tongue.Got them from rxdirect i believe.Hard to find now.Better than watson or mallies. If anyone knows where to find them at a resonable price pleeeeese post.I got a little off target here so please don't flame me.

Aquateen,
To each his own, I suppose, but any kind of med that I've taken that were Mallincroft brand made me sick to my stomach, for some reason. Weird how different brands react with different people, but I just know that IME, Mallies make me nauseous, give me headaches and you don't even wanna know what it does to the old poop shoot...LOL. JMO, of course .
