I have a question...i have a appointment with a PM doc this friday and i do know that they do urine tests....now my PCP rxed T3's along with other things and the T3's doesnt help so I ordered through the net for Hydro 10/325 for the break through pain....will the hydro show up in the urine tests or does it all look the same since i was taking the T3's? i am really confused on this since this is my 1st visit and from what people have told me if i go to a PM doc i can not get meds any where else?

It depends on what kind of test they do. If it is a 10 panel test, Hydro will show up as it's own drug. It is different from codiene in the fact that it breaks down into hydromorphone in the body. Hope that helps.

You should be COMPLETELY honest when you fill out your paperwork at the PM specialist. The ONE thing that will get you terminated from a PM program is DISHONESTY about the meds your taking and where your getting them from. I'm urine tested every visit to my PM specialist and YES they will test for synthetics, so tell them you were desperate and got them off the internet or if you must lie tell them you got them from a family member but DO tell them. If you lie and they find out, you've blown any chance they will treat you.

Only if you actually got a script of hydro at SOME point from the referring physician. If not, DO NOT LIE, it's the kiss of death with PM specialists. If they didn't script you the hydros at some point, say you got them from a family member

Well this morning i went to the PM doctor she was a vert ver nice lady and was very concerned about my pain issues and write me a scriot for 60 7.5/500 aong wiht another script for Gabitril . she tole me when i got back on the 1st of october she will be uping my meds she said she was going to wait unti my urine result =s came back in to rx me stronger meds sh. i aksed her since i have fibro sinc eht edid trigger point injection and she told me after looking at me that is would not help me at all since i have the fibro through out my body...but i did tell her everyting i have taken and recently taking and she had no problem with that at all...she did give me a peice of paper to give to the pharmacy and she also stated if i get scripts for elsewhere i would be kicked out of the PM...i also have another refill at walgreens for T3's but from my understanding is that i can not refill them? should i get that refill at a diff. pharmcy an pay cash for it or should i just leave it alone? i thought about calling walgreens and having them zero out the script? what would you do if this is happening to you? should i get the script transferred to another pharmacy and pay cash for it or just leave it alone?

it sounds like you got a caring PMD. It is obvious she is trying you out to see if you will be compliant to the rules. I would not do anything that would chance loosing that. the short term pain you might have is not worth chancing getting better meds in one month. if you are not compliant you will be discharged as a patient.
i would do exactly as she advises and wdo what ever the paper work she gave you to do

Question? Is it worth it to you to be kicked out of the PM doc's practice for a bottle of T3's? When they terminate you it's final, it's entered in your records making it difficult when you see yet another PM specialist. I wouldn't touch anything but what the PM doc prescribes as long as you want to be under her care...but that's just me. I'm sure you signed a contract and it clearly spells out whats NOT allowed, and obtaining narcotic mediations from ANY other source without the knowledge of the PM doc is grounds for termination. DON'T RISK IT!!!!
