I've seen on some sites that 2mg Xanax is only a few dollars or so more than Xanax 1mg. Is something wrong with the 2mgs? I know that may be a stupid question, but I have to ask.

In my opinion, it's a demand pricing, more people buy 1mg so they inflate that price to increase profit, if more was buying 2mg I would assume that price would increase.

I personally buy the 2 mg bars since you can split them in half and it will last twice as long. To me that makes the best money sense. If you take 1/2 mg, they are divided into 4 sections that split easily. So you save even more. No they are no different and are as potient.

IMO it may be just the other way around, 2mg Xanax Bars is the most requested Anxiety medication. The price between the two definatley makes 2mg a much better value as you get twice as much and they are scored in 4 places making it quite easy to take just the amount you need, be it .5 mg 1 or even 2. I would guess the 1mg is simply not requested as much therefor do not stock as much so an inflated price of the 1mg discourages people from ordering it. I know this same theory is used with many OP's whom offer generics and brand name. Brand name Vicodin is insanely expensive like over $200 in many cases for only 10-20ct 5mg. They obviusly order very little of this and with those prices all but guarantee patients not requesting it.
I really don't need Xanax that often (thanfully ) and only take small amounts but when I do have it prescribed on-line I request the 2mg because I get double the amount for a reasonable price have it last longer and can split it into whatever dose is needed.
On a side note though everyone knows this; it does not hurt repeating. If you must take Xanax on a daily basis, be careful and try various alternatives if you can, If you have success with an alternative, try it!! GET OFF THE XANAX!! Discuss options and alternatives with your Dr. Many have found Klonopin to be effective (not as dangerous, yet effective for many). Xanax is a very helpful drug for many but also ufortunately has a very ugly side to it . We all know what that is!! BE CAREFUL!!

get off the xanax? the ugly side? if you have taken it and you feel like you need it and have none, the feeling you are going to have a stroke?or you have something very bad wrong with you and you are going to die?
I keep it on hand, if I need I take it, IF I dont have it and need it,, A elephant tranquilizer couldnt knock me down.

yes, it actually the 1mg thats expensive rather than saying the 2 mg is cheap. in my opinion its ok save money by buying many meds in the big dose and cutting them in half. many pills have score lines for this

I have to agree with you there, Charismah. I get the 2mgs because you can break them up into doses of 4 and for some reason, I think they work faster than the footballs. If I took half of a 2mg, it would kick in much faster for me than taking a whole 1mg football. JMO, but I've been splitting my doses up like this for the last couple of years with more effective results.
