Hi everyone ... I finally went to the pain dr. here and she prescriped Avinza 90 mg. which is a morphine and you take it once a day. Then she also gave me oxycodone 5/325 for breakthrough pain.
I have Fibromyalgia and degenerative disc. I have also had two back surgeries since April of this year and they are talking about a third one with a fusion.
I went in yesterday with so much pain that I couldn't walk and she gave me a shot of Demerol...
She started my steriod injections in my back and is doing a nerve test on my legs called a EMG. ...
The Avinza is a really good medicine. I have been on oxycotins before and this is much better for the pain...
I hope this helps some of you for pain relief ....
I am interested in the nerve test you are having on your legs. The EMG. I have very bad shooting pain constantly down my right leg which is related to my disk problems. My doc. and the Er doc's don't seem to think it's anything that serious, but I know it is.
As for the Avinza, I am glad you have a caring doctor that wants to treat your pain well. My doc just went on vacation and I went through three diff. doctors at the same office needing a fill on my sced.II meds, just enough to get me through until he gets back. (I am on a daily dose 2 times daily.) Can you believe 3 doc.s that have been at the same clinic for 7+ years say they will not even prescribe sced.II? Are they scared or what? There is no signs of abuse in my chart! I wonder what that is all about. Oh, well, sorry to give my long sob story, but I just had to vent to someone.
Can you please post or pm about this test. It sounds like we may have the same simptums. (sp?) pete.

Just a thought, and I have heard this before....get your doctor to write a script and leave it in your chart, so when he goes on vacation or any other type of leave; so you won't be caught short.
I haven't done this yet, but its a good idea.
