QUESTION Sending Prescription Medications In Mail?
      #181425 - 08/19/04 05:50 PM

I do not have any indepth knowledge about the laws in New Jersey or in any state for that matter but I had a basic question to ask...

If a person was to send 120 Tramadol through the USPS (US Postal Service) and got caught somehow what would happen?

Does the same apply for 30 Tramadol? How about say 60 Ritalin tablets?

I apologize if this has been covered Ive never visited this part of the forum nor could I find an answer to my question elsewhere.

Lastly, what are my chances of being caught in NJ?

Any help would be much appreciated.

Dude, all I can say is that
1.) Nobody's going to waste their time getting you over tramadol because it's not scheduled.
2.) Ritalin is Schedule II, and if you send these across state lines, it's a federal crime, and you're looking at a felony charge. I don't know if there's an additional charge associated with using a government-mandated service like USPS, but it surely won't help your case. Sorry to be a bummer, but if you get busted you'll wonder the rest of your life why you thought it was a good idea.

Ritilan forget it, definate felony, as far as Tramadol you could be charged with operating a pharmacy in NJ without a license, doesn't matter wether its one or one thousand pills. Consider this much of the Anthrax originated in NJ the Postal inspectors and mail handlers pay particular attention in NJ. I think it's a bad idea but it's up to you.
Take care. Billylll

I'm not sure what you mean. Do you mean that if you order from an OP and they deliver it to your address in New Jersey, would you get in trouble? Or do you have Tramadol and want to mail it to someone else in New Jersey?

Most OPs operate with a legitimate pharmacy, so I'd say the best bet would be to go with a records OP, then you won't have to worry about it.

There are specific consumer affairs laws in NJ when it comes to internet based pharmacies or OP's. The pharmacy must be registered in the state and also if controlled substances are shipped via private carrier only, the doctor must have a face to face relationship with the patient. Now who gets in trouble in this situation? The pharmacy or OP as long as you are not ordering from every place under the sun. (obtaining multipule scripts for like drugs RE: DD'ing)
Take care. Billylll
