A posted warning-tried to access EVMG-Please read
      #173903 - 07/11/04 11:10 PM

I went to Eastern Valley Medical Group to see if there was any word of what Shawn is doing and this is what I got:

LINK

I am writing this message to make everyone aware of the dangers from
obtaining medication from over the internet. I have a friend who has
been battling opiate, benzo, speed, and other types of prescription
drug addiction. He has been to rehab/detox, but he still finds
himself relapsing due to the easy avenue of obtaining drugs through
internet doctors/pharmacies.

The danger in getting medication over the internet is very simple. If
you are an addict, you can easily lie about your condition in order to
get your drugs. Also, some of these sites require medical records,
but he found that all he had to do was to include a copy of an old
physical or a record that reflected an old injury and he was able to
get anything he wanted (shipped to his door the next day.) However,
there are a few online sites that do require full records and
portamedic visits, but this may still not be enough. Granted, there
are a few online doctors that do care, but due to the nature of the
internet, it is next to impossible to separate resourceful drug
seekers from those who really need the help. Even those sites that
require porta medic visits can be fooled (i.e. doping the drug test,
or tricking it.)

Some of the sites listed below are where my friend got the drugs to
facilitate his addiction. He said sometimes it was so easy, because
all he would have to do is fill out a form and lie on it. Other
times, he would have to call a doctor, whos only question would be
"What do you want?" This is out of control. Granted, I am sure there
are a few on this list that are caring and legitimate, but for the
others, all they are concerned with is extracting money from your
pocket and waiting for your next order.

Also, as far as legitimate pain patients, we need to find a way to get
them the medications they need without having to go to sources like
these. They need sympathetic doctors, who are not afraid of the DEA
for prescribing pain meds to patients in legitimate pain. We also
need a way to get them these meds at a cost that they can afford. If
the government can accomplish these two items, there will be no reason
why we cannot eradicate or force these online pharmacies to operate
within the confines of the law. Most of them are much more of a
source of corruption/danger then they are good.

Finally, all my statements above are only my opinion. I checked the
facts to the best of my ability, but just like anyone else, I can be
wrong. Nevertheless, I hope that we can help those in real pain, and
assist prescription drug abusers by making sure these types of sources
from the internet comply with the law.

hi there,
in my opinion i believe this post is written to take away the responsibility of the person who has taken advantage of op's and is using them as a excuse for continuing addiction behavior. there are bars on every corner, should they close because a person cant drink. do you sue tobacco companies because you made a choice to smoke and now are sick? we are all given choices in life and to bash op's because a person abused these sites, its on them. not the op's. how is this different than going to a dr in your town and saying you have pain and need medication. this person lied to get medications, its their problem, they lied and they need to place blame where it belongs, its people like them that ruin it for the true chronic pain patient who do not abuse the privilage of op's and comply with the requirements. i highly doubt if the above person who has the addiction goes into rehab and says op's made him a addict, true rehab counselors would say he has along way to go to get honest with themself. if i get fat from eating at taco bell everyday should i warn everyone to stay away from that establishment? grow up and take responsibility for your own destructive behaviors.

just my opinion

I second that! I am a stay @ home mom with 3 children to care for. One that is completely disabled that ive lifted for 13 years. I have degenerative disk disease and arthritis, etc. To continue to take care of him and my other little ones, its been of great help for me to be able to use OP's to contine my meds my PCP doc started me on. Im not able to load everyone up and go to the walk in clinic since i don't have insurance>> and pay them 80.00 to prescribe me 20 pills with no refills. There are alot of advantages that i could ramble on for hours, but won't take up any more time. It is ashame that some people do indeed ruin it for true Chronic Pain Patients........
Bless you all

seamaiden,

i couldn't have said it better myself. people deserve liberty and freedom, what they choose to do with their life is up to them, and therin lies the responsibility for the consequences of their own personal decisions. you can't blame everyone else for the choice you decide to make.

i have heard it said, when you point your finger at someone take a look at your hand and you will see 3 fingers pointing back at you.

thank you for taking the time to read this. i love you all and wish you the best in a comfortable life.

cheers, c. (angel)

Just curious if this "Shawn" is a "HE" as you describe why did YOU or HE include www.getthepill.com in your list you posted when they ONLY SELL FEMALE birth control pills "The Pill" that's it? Shouldn't that www. be taken off the list let's be fair here?

"We at getthepill.com are committed to providing women with safe, easy access to emergency contraception (the morning after pill) and birth control pills."

I guess now the web site is not active so it goes to Websearch and gives you other sites to choose from and I believe this was the 1st choice.

I just thought it was strange. Shawn never said a word about what happened and nothing was ever posted on his site and then they were just gone.

That's what I was trying to figure out and I did realize it looked old but much of the info is still good and even Dr. Starks and Tracy's info was there so it looks as if it is an old DB member or something similar.

".... Some of the sites listed below are where my friend got the drugs to facilitate his addiction. ..."

If your friend really did cheat our system, please tell me how so I may fix it. An annomynous PM is fine.

I've been the web master of http://painmeds4u.com since it began in August 2001 and find it a tad irratating to see us in this list. We've worked hard to be safe and legal. We go steps further than what the law requires.

A drug seeker is often easy to spot. They are the ones yelling over the phone about our entry system being so tough.

Our psychological reviews, phone consults and documentation checks shed light on lies quickly and frustrate all but the most determined frauds.

I do know for a fact that our doctors don't just ask, "What do you want?" I listen to them do consults sometimes and hear them lead a patient to what is safe and effective for them. I have also listened to them patiently explain reality to an angry drug seeker being turned down.

I do know for a fact that you can not gets meds from us over night after just filling in a form. Now and then people actually berate us over the phone for not breaking this rule. Our support staff is used to explaining, we're a real clinic here.

We've caught and stopped frauds trying to get into our program. We've had to turn down people who may have been telling the truth, but couldn't proove it.

More than a reply to you perhaps, I want to leave assurance here for others to see that even though we are on this list comprised of one person's personal opinion, we do not belong on it, in my personal opinion.

EasternValleyMedicalGroup.com

It's a dead link.
I don't see any connection between EVMG and the site listed above. The site above , in fact, has EVMG included in their op list.

That list is on a site called Cyber-spy.com.

I agree with above poster, it looks old, judging by some of the names on the list. If u look at more of the pages from that site, they r trying to sell u some kind of detective software.

Just wanted to clarify that I do not see any correlation with that site and EVMG.

EVMG is closed .

This Cyberspy site list just appears to me to be someone who had a friend who overdosed, and is using their webspace for a soapbox.

A dead link goes nowhere. This goes somewhere and old or not, the fact that it takes you there via websearch is wierd.

Here is the link for when you try to go to EVMG:

LINK

LIke I said, old or not this link was not coming up until EVMG's site went down so somehow someone is making sure you get to that site.

After a period of time when a website no longer uses the DNS address asigned tot heir site another company is assigned the same DNS address or a the hosting company can assign the DNS address to anyone willing to pay for that adress. It could be that this SEARCH ENGINE (which it is) owns this DNS address anyway and could have possibly hosted the EVMG site or maybe they didn't and just bought the right to use this DNS address. It simply goes to a search engine now who brings up anything with evmg referenced which happens to be this one article.
Anytime you have a website and have it hosted and are assigned a dns address it is yours until your site goes down or you no longer pay for it. at that time anyone can purchase the use of the DNS address. I imagine it would be a lucrative avenue for this new search engine to draw customers ans at one time evmg had a lot of hits to their address.

also on this page is a link that says WHY AM I SEEING THIS PAGE and this is what it says when clicked on!
Quote:

Why am I seeing this page?

You received these search listings because you entered either a search query or an incorrect website address into your Web browser's address bar.

Such results allow you to see search listings relevant to your intended address bar entry - a better alternative to simply showing you an error message.

Thanks rkjones, I was about to go into a tirade about how DNS works, but you saved me the trouble.

The "real" EVMG website is apparently gone. The IP address previously assigned to EVMG's site is now being used by some company in Ontario called Cyber-Spy:

http://dnsstuff.com/tools/whois.ch?ip=cyber-spy.com

It appears to be hosted on Cogento cable in Canada:

d221-73-147.commercial.cgocable.net is it's true rDNS.

Either someone mildly clever is having some fun with DNS, or the real EVMG domain has been taken over by some kid who wrote that long rambling nonsense to get the attention his mother and father didn't give him.

In any case, this is not a noteworthy issue. This fake website is worth about as much attention as Moore's new movie. Maybe even less, at least there have been some good anti-moore jokes circulating, so he has inspired SOME thought.

I see where u r getting that, now, that you have included a link that shows what search engine you are using.
That search engine you are using, -if u type in EasternValleyMedicalGroup.com--the 4th or 5th result shows u the cyberspy site link, because it "mentions" EVMG on their site. It's the robot search engines pulling it up.

However, try typing in the link I provided, which has been their addy as long as I can remember--
and it is a dead link that goes nowhere.U can click on this link, or you can copy and paste into your ADDRESS bar ( the http www. line )

EasternValleyMedicalGroup.com

See what I mean ?

Thks for posting the search engine link u were using, now I understand why u thought it was EVMG's old site. It can be confusing if you don't really look at the addy of link you click on. Those bot search engines are pretty powerful.

What happened to Shawn and EVMG? I used them once and thought he was trying to run a quality business. Shawn struck me as being hard working and demanded a lot of documentation. I hope he is okay.

Also what is the latest on TDI?

Take care everyone, especially everyone in Florida.

If you click on the first link in the beginning of the thread, it does come up as some Spy Net thing, but the text about this person's supposed "friend" and all of the pharmacies listed in that post is still up on the site. Only thing is, they're using a motherboard looking page background and a very dark font. Highlight the text and you'll see what I mean, or better yet, view the source code for it.

So what is this, anyway, propaganda of some sort? I'm just now hearing about this. At any rate, I'd like to thank the person who compiled that original list for bringing even more heat to those of us who rely on OP's for our meds. Way to go, you "compassionate" friend, you.

Thanks to ReOokie for making us all aware of this list, perhaps you could repost it on the Open Discussion board? I'm pretty sure there would be a lot of other posters interested in what this article has to say.

Whats funny about that list is that they did not include one of the biggest online pescriber. Also its one of the most liberal. So is this a marketing tool to scare people into buying from certain companys?
