Happily, I have recently discovered that taking one 350mg Soma allows me to take HALF my regular dosage of 10/325. I usually take 4 Norco tablets for my chronic pain condition. I've found that taking the Soma allows me to take two Norco tablets for the same effect on pain relief. Has anybody else experienced this synergy?
I am not a physician, and I don't advocate anyone doing this without discussing it with their doc, but it works for me. Can anybody tell me why this might be?
This makes me very happy, since I will be able to cut down on my APAP intake significantly, and also save some money.

I can't tell you why this seems to work, and I have never discussed this with my doctor either, but I also take these two medicines together at night, so that I can get through the whole night without waking up in pain. I don't know if it is the relaxing properities in soma that helps the hydro last longer for me but I do know that when I take two 350mg somas along with 1 of my 10/500 hydros I usually make it through the night.

Yes, I have used them together and it does help the hydro to work better at a lower dosage, that is until you get tolerant, just like anything else.

On more than one occassion my family doc has prescribed me Soma (for nightime usage) with 7.5/750's for things like shoulder/back muscle spasms and strains. Works very, very well.
I wouldn't recommend taking too much Soma as it is a muscle relaxant and you will want to take a nap in a bad way...unless of course it's nightime.

most people i know from work with back problems get a rx for them both at the local docs.most pain can be relieved by relaxing totally and thats what the combo will do.i guess it works like yoga does for those that can tolerate it.

Really? I love the Las Vegas coctail - 2 Somas and a hydro and my headaches are long gone, as Nolan Ryan says. I don't get as much of an effect with a Xanax and a hydro, but I only take 0.25 to 0.5mg of Xanax with it. How much do you take?
I actually have an important question here - I took 2 Somas, a Xanax, one iboprofen, and a 10/325 hydro and my neck is still killing me! Anyone have better success with Zanaflex, Flexeril, and heck, I can't remember the other muscle relaxants? Soma is supposed to be good for this sort of thing.

My husband uses Zanaflex with a tramadol and a hydro for his back pain. When I had my concussion and had terrible headaches I took Zanaflex and Fiorcet to get rid of it.

1-1.5mg of Xanax and 15mg of hydro, but the Xanax is more addictive then the opiate.
