Energy Boosters
      #180775 - 08/17/04 06:09 AM

I am on day number 3 of CT from opiates cause I want to be normal again. I was taking about 10 a day for about 6 months, I feel like my mind is in a fog and I am sooooooo not motivated, my energy level is slim to non, I have L-Tysroine and one a day active vitimins that I take but I am so tired all of the time and it is not like I could go to sleep tired but just so not active is there anything that will help for my energy, and how long does it take for the L-Tysroine to start working, I only take one a day should I take more? I am taking 2 one a day vitimins just cause I think that will help.

When I had major issues with CFS last year I took a supplement called Sea Silver. It worked wonders for me. It's a little pricey though.

I think that Siberian Ginseng may help you as well regarding your energy level. I'm at work, not home, so my info is limited here.

Those are two things I can think of for you to look into.

Thanks, I know that my energy level has a lot to do with my body just getting back to normal from taking all the hydro and I am sure the real answer is time and exerscise but I hate both of those

I just started taking CO Q 10, its in the vitamin section, too........Im surprised, but i think its helping a little, i know exactly what you mean when you say, NO ENERGY! I have never felt this bad in my life. I have 3 kids to take care of and its real hard when you can't hardly move. I have had to be on various P.M. for a long time and im sick of it..........Ive got to get a Plan together that will work for me. I don't want to hurt, but I do want to live again........I forget everything and can not focus on anything, Try the CO Q 10 along with the others you are taking. Read up on it before you buy it, its not expensive and its suppose to be for cardiovascular health and turns your food into energy.....Give it a whirl and let me know if you get any better ideas i can try

Please hang in there Swirl. No energy, no motivation and intense fatigue (that is not caused by sleep deprivation), is very similar to some of the symptoms of chronic major depression. When you can't put one foot in front of the other to propel yourself across the room to get a drink of water when you are thirsty, that is severe, unrelenting depression. I think you might be suffering from a reactive type of depression due to stopping the meds CT. This is a dreadful 'reward' for your courages effort, however the good news is that it's almost always temporary if you have not had a previous history of severe depression. It's your body (brain) reacting to the stress. I am new to DB and have absolutly no expertise or experience with CT or addiction, only a lifelong struggle with depression, and it sounds like you could benefit from one of the SRI anti-depressants. I know MD's prescribe them for patients quiting alcohol and smoking to preserve as much seritonin (one of the feel-good hormones)as possible. People who suffer from reactionary depressions are usually good canidates for the SRI's, and are often helped,( but not always). For immediate relief see Tlynn's (Teresa)posts for Cat-nip tea. She is very informed and helpful, and is drinking it with very good results right now. I know it sounds funny but it was my first thought when I read your post! After all...Look what cat-nip does for cats! In fact forget about the SRI's and try Teresa's very simple recipe for CAT-NIP TEA she posted yesterday. LET US KNOW YOUR RESULTS, ok? I am going to try it too! Stay strong...Swirl. You can do this! michie

I may try the cat nip tea, I wish I knew when the energy would come back it is so hard for me to even get up to cook dinner or enjoy the company of my husband when he gets home from work, so I guess it is all part of withdrawls from hydro as i am proud that i am on day 3 I just have to belive in myself.
