Perduretus vs Tylenol #4
      #179358 - 08/10/04 08:51 PM

Does anyone have additional info on the difference between T-4 and Perduretus? I taken both and find that the Tevau generic of T-4 is the best generic. I get my Perduretus at Biotran and have had no problems and am waiting for my fourth shipment as I am writing this. I like the site because he is so straightforward and honest and consider the Perduretus to be of good quality. It's just there isn't much info as far as I can see regarding Perduretus I know it is time released but is it dangerous to crush them.
The only thing I don't like about Perduretus is sometimes it seems like they take too long to react to the pain. Has anyone else had this problem and if so how do I get them to react quicker?
Anyway all opinions and info are welcome and appreciate! Thanks!

There is a significant difference between the two. Tylenol #4 contains 60 mg. of codeine and 300 mg. APAP (tylenol) and is not time-released. Perduretas contain 50 mg. of codeine and is time-released. If you chewed the Perduretas, it would instantly release all the codeine, but would still be less than the amount of codeine in one T-4. So, the answer would be no danger in chewing them if you are used to taking T-4.

One should always take care how much APAP one ingests, however.

Good answer. I'd just add to the anti-APAP side by saying i'd take the perduretus over the tylenol any time beause it doesn't contain, well, tylenol. If the perd's are time-released then i'd crush them or chew them in order to get what little itsy-bitsy effect that paltry amount of codeine might give. I wish I could feel that low a level of p/k but after this many years of pain control codeine is just out of the question because even the top dose that your body can process at once - around 400 MG IIRC - doesn't come close to killing the pain anymore.

good luck with it all...

I think dihydrocodeine strength varies wildly from person to person. Some folks claim great relief from low doses but personally I get much better relief from 20mg of hydro than 600 mg of DHC. That's just me, maybe my chemistry is weird. I just know that it's a waste of my time to even bother with codeine and it's sorta-cousin DHC...

IMO anything above aspirin/apap/nsaids works better than codeine or DHC. If I were spending the money that DHC costs these days, i'd definitely go with tramadol / ultram. Just MO of course..

ETA: poppyale you might want to recheck your facts. I'm no pharmacist/doc but i'm pretty sure your liver metabolizes all the different meds into morphine and DHC doesn't break down into hydrocodone. They sound similar, but there's a big difference between '..codeine' and '..codone'. I could be wrong, have been befoe, but I don't think I am in this case.

All I know is out of all the form's of pharmacuetical opiates there are codiene(with exception of Diluahid which is impossible to get) gives me the best high, the stuff from Europe is awesome, I've never been disappointed with any of them.

I would dare to disagree with that also....codiene breaks down into morphine (which is where it comes from).....and it is my understanding that Hydro is basically a synthetic form of herion........They are 2 different types of drugs......

I have heard people say that a certain dosage of DHC is comparable to a certain amount of hydro, but everybody body chemostry is different, so depends on the person.........

Can anyone shed some better light.....
