yesterday i faxed my Dr office a 3 page letter telling him how bad my pain is andd asking him why he is not trwating me and asking for a referral to someone that can treat me...well i havent got a response back to that letter as of yet...well today my pain has gotten alot worse and my back is at the point of extreme pain so i call and leave a voice mail on the dr phone telling him what is going on i also stated to him please do not refer me to the ER because i am a songle mom of 2 and i am not able to take them with me because my kids are 4 and 2 and i have no one to watch them so if i do go to the Er they will not do any kinds of test because i have the children with me,i stated on his phone to please call me something in ( i was begging) i told him i have been throwing up from the pain...he hasnt called back as of yet i called about 30 min ago...any suggestion on what else i can tell this guy?? more than likely he will tell me to take tyelnol and i have done that and also have been taking tramadol which is not helping at all and i have taken the max of the tramadol today..what else do i need to tell this uncaring doc??

Dae, did you get any response from the doc yet?if not i just wonder if he was out of the office .its possible he had an emergency with another patient? if not i would definately have to find a new doctor if i were you.
i really do hope you got some help, let us know if you did.

he still hasnt called as of yet i am going to give him about 30 more min and then i am going to call again...maybe he didnt understand my message since i was crying on the voice mail...the # i called was to his direct cell phone because i called the office and on the recording it stated if this is a emergency and prescription refills is not a emergency please call this number XXX-XXXX and i did and got his voice mail and left a message...so if he hasnt called back in about 30 min i will call again....i guess i will keep calling until he does something for me i can not go through this pain tonight at all and i cant go to the ER either so i am stuck...i wish and pray to god he will do something for me i swear i do

If he doesn't respond-or respond as you'd like him to-please drop him and continue the search for a compassionate doctor who will respond to patients and meet their needs in whatever manner necessary.
Doctors like the one you're describing get me so angry and when it comes down to it they work for you and you have as much right to demand satisfaction from them as you do any other service rendered to you and if you're not satisfied (i.e.,still hurting needlessly or waiting for a return call that never comes etc.) you can-and should-"fire" him.
They may be harder and harder to find these days but compassionate doctors who are unafraid to-and indeed realize that they should-use the full painkilling arsenal at their disposal do exist but ya won't find one if ya don't look  .
I'm so sorry you have to deal with this and hope he comes thru and your pain subsides or you find someone else quick. In the interim could you not order overnight from an OP to keep you painfree?.

i wished i had the means( $$) to order right now from a OP but i dont that is why i am calling this doctor for something because i do have insurance with a 0.00 copay on meds and i only asked for something to hold me over through the weekend until monday if he could see me then but still no call so i am going to call him again...at first when i went a seen him the first few times he was so so so caring he was even telling me he knew i was hurting and how sorry he was that i felt so bad thats why i have stayed with him but since all this stuff with my back (you can look at my post about my MRI results its need help with MRI results)he seems like he cant do anything or either he is too scared to but right now i wished i would die i am hurting so bad.

I just called again and he didnt answer his phone and i got the voice mail i didnt leave a message tgis time i just paged him with my # with 911 behind it...if he doesnt call me back i will be calling his office on Monday and telling them whats on my mind...this isnt right at all

still no call and its been a hour after my 2nd call to him...what is up with this guy? any suggestions on what i should do now??

If you are a single mom in that much pain, call 911. Don't wait for the doctor. Your kids are counting on you. Let the "nice" policeman watch them or whatever. You don't have to take that sh!*. Don't live in fear, or wait for some quack of a Doctor who's out playing golf to help you. Go to the nearest hospital and speak very loudly about Doctor Jesus Christ Superstar who wouldn't help you and pretty much left you for dead!!!

went to Er today and guess what?? I have 7 kidney stones!! they gave me a shor of demerol for the pain and spme meds to try and dissolve the stones so i can pass them...i am calling my so-called doctors office tomorrow and giving the H*** the doc at the ER room even tried calling my doc with no return call back from him...i will threaten them with a lawsuit and everything tomorrow. i think i have the greatest doctor (yeah right!!) they are not gonna want to hear from me at all tomorrow i guess after my call to them tomorrow i will be getting a letter in the mail from the office telling me they are no longer able to see me as a patient anymore but i hate to tell them but it will not hurt my feelings at all....thank you all for your support...

Oh MY!!! See, thats why doctors should ALWAYS return your call. Even if they think they know your situation, and think that it doesn't need to be addressed. There should of been another doctor to call, on his answering machine. My husband had kidney stones, and they dropped him to his knees. Please take care, and let your fired doc have it!!!
