FEDEX reimbursement????
      #178526 - 08/07/04 12:24 PM

HI everyone,
I know most people have gotten fedex packages, but my question is, when your order is guaranteed by a certain time and they do not deliver it on time, whether it be a couple hours later or days, has anyone actually gone through this procedure and gotten their shipping money back or prorated? On the fedex site, there is a place that says if it is 60 seconds late from the guaranteed time that it will reimburse you.........here is the site:
http://fedex.com/us/services/express/termsandconditions/us/guarantee.html?link=4

please share your experiences with the fedex guarantee system......

Many times the guarantee does not apply at a residence but only a business and the 10:30 time guarantee usually flows to 12 at a home.

There are many ways for Fed-Ex to find a loophole if they want.

And when fed-ex has been a litle late, say an hour or so, I jsut remember that there have been many times where they showed up at 9 AM so it all evens out.

I have never had it be only a couple of hours late but it has been a day late and the sender issued a credit as I continued to do business with them.

One time fedex delivered at 7pm and it was supposed to be by 3pm. I had the 800# CS rep on the phone when the driver showed up. The rep offered the credit and I explained that I didnt pay for the shipping directly. Her response was, they have the info and will issue a credit. She told me to let the shipper know and then work it out with them. I think it was buymeds or one of those last summer. I dont think I ever got the credit because I didnt order again with them.

I think if it is a reliable, compliant OP, you can work something out. I have heard of MVW and the old netpain crediting shiping due to UPS delivering a day late or not delivering on a Saturday.

So, it has been done.....

I've had packages come late.

Like you said, the problem is that the OP pays the shipping so to get credit you would have to jump through a million hoops and considering the suspect customer service of most OPs, it's almost not worth it.

I chalk it up as the price of doing business in the grey area of online medicine.

It is interesting this comes up today! I had an overnight package due to arrive by 3:00 pm on thurs. I was checking the fed ex site Wed. night and early thurs. morning. It seemed like it wasn't going to get here on time, because at 9:00 am it still hadn't been scanned in my area. It goes to 2 fed ex hubs in my area before it's on the truck for delivery.

Anyways, the package never came so I called fed ex thurs night around 5:00 pm. I had looked at the website right before that and it was all of a sudden updated to show that delivery was attempted but no one was there, or the business was closed. PLUS, THE DELIVERY ATTEMPT ADDRESS WAS THE FED EX HUB!! and not even my address. The rep. on the phone told me they attempted delevery, however I know they didn't because I was home all day.

My basic point is, like another poster said, there are loopholes that can be gone through by the driver, or someone else to show they attempted delivery when they really didn't. I knew by early thurs. morning that it wasn't going to be on the truck in time to make it, but why did they have to lie and make it look like they attempted delivery? I would have understood. I know they get swamped sometimes. Is a little refund or credit too much to ask?

Now I am babbling. I think you guys get the point. pete.

I have also had packages arrive late and Fedex has credited the shipper the delivery charges. Any reputible OCS would pass this along to the customer. All you should have to do is contact the ocs after fedex to let them know fedex is giving you a credit and they should credit you on the next delivery. It was a very easy process!
