I am in the process of tapering down my percocet dosage. I am supposed to take 3 times a day. I have been going over that a little bit by taking 3.5-4 a day. My script is 10mg with 650 APAP. One side effect is Diareha. So I take Immodium. Now for the past four days I have had Hemorrhoids like I have never had before. I have been awake since 4 am with severe PAIN in my back,nausea, insomnia, and hemorrhoid pain that is unbearable. My last dose of percocet was 13 hours ago. I finally got out of bed and took one 10 mg Percocet and 3 200mg Ibuprophen along with Preperation H. I know this is gross, But I don't care. Now finally after one and a half hours, the pain all the way around (back and bum) is tolerable. I had to lay on my stomach for 1 hour to get the pain to settle down. The Nausea now is gone. If I had any idea that tapering from percocet was going to be this difficult I would have never, ever started taking it for my back injury, but the Doctor always knows best right? I go back to see him next week. Something has go to give here, this is hell!!! I also start physical therapy next week also.
Yawkaw.......if you are reading this please help. Your taper schedule that I used three months ago worked well and I got down to taking 2 percocets a day in stead of 4,but I deleted the PM. Maybe I am going to fast in the taper.
To anyone starting Percocets......Please be careful! You don't want this withdrawel Hell!!!
if you are having symptoms laike that you are tappering to quickly. Someone posted that a decress should never be more than 20% of your ncurrent dose. when i was on percocet I went from 80 mg day to 40 mg a day and i had symptoms. they were not real bad but i had a good support system. are you taking any other narcotic. going from 4 to 3 should not be all that bad. itried to keep my last does of the day for around bed time. not getting a good sleeep could make W/D worse. dont wait so long for W/D to get bad. what I did was I would put my allowable does in a med bottle. I could see them touch them and I would decide when to take them. but when i ran out my wife would give me no more until the next day.(she broke the rule once when i fell and had a bad bruise around my shpoulder near wgher i had surgery. i recomend not to cut your dose by 20%at time. it is enough that physical symptoms should not be that bad. mental symptoms are the biggest killer to any tapper.
I could rationlize a horse out of deal to get my meds!!! that is why have what you are allowed in a bottle so you can see exactly what yopu have tha will teach your mind control...
