I have a gripe!!
      #175240 - 07/20/04 10:00 AM

I've been thinking the last few days - and I can do that you know!

What started this thinking process was that I had an order due to arrive yesterday and when I called UPS to track the package the "nice" lady told me that the wrong address had been used and that it would be redelivered tomorrow! $30 bucks for overnight shipping but wait until the next day because someone made a mistake.

Well, that was not going to happen and I proceeded to tell the lady why, that it was medication and I couldn't wait until tomorrow because my job requires me to travel and I have to plan around shipping schedules to make sure I'm available for signature. I ended up having to drive to UPS to pick it up (which is certainly better than not getting it at all) but it started this dialogue with my brain.

I've been using OP's for more than three years. Thinking back on all the overnight shipping charges I've paid and not received overnight service makes me cringe. I've paid for Saturday delivery and not got my package on Saturday. That's frigging $40 right there!

So now I'm adding up all the charges I've paid for shipping and not received the service I paid for. I could have bought me a Golden Retriever, a set of tires for my car, a pair of silk pajamas, and red high heels! It is totally ridiculous to even think that these places would make it up to their customers somehow or even attempt to make it right.

These are some of the situations I've endured......I've had the pharmacy ship to my work address but use my home city, state and zip. I've had them ship to me on Saturday and adamently detailed which address to send it to but it would end of at my place of business which is closed on Saturday. I've had them load the package wrong at UPS or FedEx. I've had them hold it at FedEx without my request and days later it would turn up. And the list goes on and on.

I know there's absolutely nothing that can be done about this but I had to get it off my breast - I mean chest!

I also know I'm not the only one bearing this frustration. I don't feel any better talking about it either.

Hoo boy did you nail THAT one on the head. This has not only occured to me as well but has had me spittin' nails on more that one occasion. You are so right when you say that NONE of these op's EVER cares when your meds get to you (or even IF they get to you).

I know, I know, "get your records and then you won't have to use these shady op's!!!!" yeah.....bla bla bla to you too Charlie Brown Teacher......

Well said and great thread.

Much regard,
Pickledoo

I'm not sure where this came into play but I have a string of records dating back many years. I've never used an OP that didn't require records.

And, as far as I'm concerned they're all shady.

Ok.....I misunderstood. My thought was that the records/consult places were more reliable and cheaper and most of all "more" legal. I really was not aware that even folks who use r/c op's were having many of the same problems that questionaire people are having.

You have my most sincerest apology.....

I didn't take your comment as sarcastic and I'm sorry if you thought I was being. Just clarifying your reply.

I'm afraid that whether it's a record requiring OP or one that doesn't require any records at all.....they've got chronic pain patients by the cahootas and are getting "big and rich" "phat" "yada yada yada" off of our suffering. I'm sure they're all thinking they've struck gold!

Lovely,

Since you seem to have good taste (I am on my 2nd Golden, even though she is red) I have to ask about the travel thing. I travel a lot and was wondering if I could have them deliver to my hotel? The only thing that worries me is that they don't seem to check Emails, or address changes obviously,so if I get in a bind is this an option???

Ken

I travel also with work. Currently I have meds shipped to the Fed Ex hub that is open for Saturday pickup. I have had wine shipped to a hotel in California, it is illegal to ship to my home state. I've had a few other things shipped to hotels and have sent packages to coworkers without issue. My experience has always been with Fed Ex and positive.

Good luck.

Sam

My fiance has had the same problems with a particular pharmacy...not consult company, the consult company, they are top notch.

About two months ago, she recieved her package only after a major mess up. The pharm went and put the wrong zip code in, having the package sent to Texas instead of NJ...big difference huh?

Anyway, it was a Friday and she pleaded with the pharm to help her get on a Saturday, she was going on a very important which caused runnning around, alot of standing etc, the kids love her you know. Well, the pharm said there was nothing the can do, it would have to re-route starting Monday to only get it Tuesday. She pleaded and begged, not a budge, they said UPS will not deliver it for Saturday...ok?. So, come Tuesday, it finally came, and the night she went to babysit....she was in agony. This was the 1st incident.

So, the next refill she called in and confirmed that they had the correct address, zip code, etc, and they did. As usual, they arrived on time..no complaints, via UPS before 9:30am no less

Well, here goes. Few days ago, she put another refill order in, on time, and everything went fine on the phone. Then the next morning comes, 10:45am, no UPS. So, she calls and finds out AGAIN it was sent to Texas and not NJ. That they still have the wrong zip in the system, this after the accomplishment of sending it to the right place the previous order. One number was off on the zip again. correct 07032...incorrect 77032

So, she (my fiance) calls to tell them. The supervisor gets on, apologizies, puts my fiance on hold, comes back on and sez "no problem, it will get to her on Saturday morning". Meanwhile this is the same person that was insistant that UPS will not deliver on Saturday, no matter what. Oh, ironically this refill was done on a Friday.

So, to make this already story long but short, Here comes Saturday, it gets to around 3pm and no UPS. We check the tracking online. WHAM!, it was sent to Texas again with the wrong zip, instead of New Jersey. Meanwhile I saw her and heard her (my fiance) give the correct info on the previous refill, where the rep confirmed the correct address it was going to.

Back to this recent order. This pharm is closed on Saturday. So,she calls UPS and they have a UPS CSR stating in the UPS comments line, that the pharm called(name of person from shipper that called was there) but, no notes to re-route for Saturday, rep sez "package is still in Texas". That the shipper called to confirm shipping info.

She ( my fiance) calls the pharm on Monday, they say there is no document, it didn't get taken care of indeed, but they will check, basically saying she is lying.....lol Lull and behold, the pharm said indeed it was in Texas that the shipper only called to "confirm" the address, not to change it for re-route.

UGh....so finally we get the pharm to say she'll get it out for Tuesday..today and she did.

Bottom line, always call the pharm to see if the info is correct. Oh, the UPS guy on the phone said they would have definietly sent it for Saturday either time, that UPS can do this without a problem, just an extra charge. I was even prepaired to make that payment for Saturday even though this was the pharm mess-up.

This pharm has messed up like this too much, once is enough but 2? She is VERY upset with this pharm constantly messing up and will go elsewhere when the refills are done, plus she knows alot of people that use OP's to my surprise, speaking with them online including a dr. not as a consult but to keep in touch about her recent injury. So, she could take alot of patrons in another direction if need be, she doesn't want to do that.

I worked in CS for years and running a buisness like this will get you shut down or undo attention (we will not call or anything), they are playing with people's money and minds dong that.

Ok, sorry for the rant. It is a VERY VERY reputable pharm, I'll let you figure out who it is, and I can only hope they solve these problems....Shame on you blank pharmacy.

If I had the money back from the times I paid for overnight or Saturday delivery and didn't receive it, I could have paid to go to school to become a pharmacist or perhaps even a doctor! It's very frusterating, but we seem to be at their incompenent mercy.

Hope everyone is having a pain-free (or at least low pain) day!

Vastchoirs,
This is exactly what I'm talking about. But, even if you do call and confirm the shipping address they still can't get it right. That's what I did for the Saturday delivery, called to confirm what their records indicate. And even though they assured me that it was going to 555 Anywhere Road, My Town, USA, they still sent it to the wrong frigging city with the wrong frigging zip code.

As Debbie, the latest poster indicated.....I could have gone to school to be a pharmacist or even a doctor using the money paid for shipping charges that never arrived as promised.

Some of these folks think they're above treating someone with the same standard they'd like to be treated. I firmly believe that what goes around comes around. So Mr. Pharmacy Shipper....beware. You're going to be expecting something urgently important one day and it's not going to be there. I wonder if it will dawn on you all the times you put someone in the boat YOU WILL find yourself in one day.

So to all of you greedy, money hungry, don't have the slightest concern for someone in pain, holier than thou, don't make a mistake and if you do blame it on the customer, SHAME ON ALL OF YOU!

United is good with messing up like this. Specially on orders where two medications are involved in one shipment.
Anyone else have a problem with United RX?
