I have a refill for Norco that I orgininally filled on June 21st. I tried yesterday (July 15th) to have it refilled but Walgreens' computer tagged it as an early refill. The pharmicist told me they aren't allowed to refill until 3 days before the refill date. So, when it is 4 days before and you're leaving to go camping for a week and are going to run out, they say "I wish I could help you" but they do not. I asked for a partial refill but they wouldn't consider it.
I know they're worried about people abusing the stuff, but c'mon. I'm in the computer, they know what I get filled, and most of all, I'm an adult, people. If I wanted to get high, I'd go get high.
It's bad enough that some doctors make me feel like an idiot and treat me like a child when I need pain medication. I don't need Walgreens' computer to do the thinking for me, too. The thing is, the pharmacist seemed genuinely sorry. And it's not like he was giving me attitude for wanting a legitimate refill 1 day early.
So, anyway, it's back to my local pharmacist who is absolutely outstanding, who knows me and doesn't pull this kind of weenieness. It's just kind of a hassle because Walgreens is 1 block away from my work with extended hours and my local pharmacist is 50 minutes away from work (I commute) and 9 to 5 Mon-Fri.
Irritating. Anyone else run into this?

My local chain pharmacy was bought by Wallgreens. I get a script for soma every three months from my PCP. I just call the pharmacy and they fax it to him. Been doing this for many years. The first time I called Wallgreens I ask them how long since my last script. The guy said "It was March at this pharmacy, but I do not know about the others". I am so stupid I did not get that he was saying I shop around. It has to come from the top they must be trained this way. Every one complains about Wallgreens.

I know what you mean.Sadly things did not change for me with my docs until, I Best if kept off the board near bled to death from their antiinflamitory drugs. After surgery to repair the bleeding, and transfusions four pints kept me alive. My Ortho and PCP have changed. It helps that they knew the gastro that saved me. The doctors have been very candid with me and have discussed their fears of prescribeing Hyrdo and Oxycodon. I guess I am lucky Soma darvacet for minor pain and t-4s for stonger pain have worked. I still had to sign some BS paper saying I would not divert the drugs. Tramadol seems to work for me after a few days and daily does work. But when I stop after a month, I get tired depressed for several days. Never again. You should not have to get that sick to get proper care. I do feel extremely lucky not have to use ops very often. When I see T-4s for $200 bucks I know my docs and insurance are saving me. Every one hang in there but belive me almost bleeding to death was still not worth it.

Dunloc, Sorry to hear about your stomach bleeding, I hope you are feeling better now. I like how some doc's say there going to give you a real strong painkiller, then you get a script for 500mg naprosen, or 800mg ibu. I feel for you.
As for Walgreens, I think most people here have allready heard me ranting about them in many posts, and know I DONT LIKE THEM. so I don't even want to get started.
Have a good weekend everone. and pain free.
