Boo,
Numerous people have gotten these calls. This place says they bought a number of sites and tell people if they order now that they, the caller, will get a commission. Seems tacky to me. Personally, I would never give anyone my cc# over the phone that made a cold call to me. That is , also, a lot of money to spend on, I believe, 90 hydrocodones. I have no idea if people have received their meds as almost all the people, that I know of, that ordered canceled their orders.
I hope all turns out well for you and hope you feel better soon.
Jewels

Got one of the refill phone calls & it sounded so legit, etc. What a dummy. I fell for it & I KNOW better. I've been charged 141.00 & have not rec'd anything!!!! What a scam. I'm thinking I should do a chargeback asap. However, I don't want my cc company to get suspicious. I read a while back about cc co's cracking down or something. Like they contribute to the downfall of some OP's by red flagging places. I don't want to be involved in anything like that! Do I have to tell them what I ordered, etc.? Please help an idiot. I promise not be so stupid again...thanks.

These kind of people (those who take advantage of people most in need) really make me sick. It's like stealing from a blind old lady because it's easy.... Lowest form of life.

To be honest, I never, ever order or even donate anything by phone unless I am sure of the company/person I am dealing with. It's just too easy to "bait, slam and scam" as I call it.

You know, sound real nice, convincing, and legit at first (the bait), then start pressuring you into ordering right then and there to make sure you get what you need or the deal is only for today or some such garbage (the slam) and then just take your CC number and run with it, without any contact info (the scam).

In any case, I would call you’re credit card company and explain that someone sold you something this way and you thought it was from a merchant you did business with before but when you contacted them they said it wasn’t them. Then you never received it and don’t have contact information for the person and therefore assume it’s a scam.

Every credit card company is different, but my guess is, since they are going to take the hit or have to pursue this guy to get their money they already probably paid to him back, they are going to want some information from you, like who the merchant you normally deal with is and probably what you ordered.

But don’t get too paranoid; the point to emphasize with the CC Company is that someone got your number and scammed you. It has nothing to do with the legit merchant (OP) you always order from. As long as this is not something you’re doing all the time (disputing charges) you should be fine and I think CC’s have better things to do than do than start looking into legit merchants. As long as they get their fee, they’ll pretty much accept transactions from anyone.

CC’s are, in fact for the consumer (thanks to some good laws for a change), a pretty safe option at least compared to sending money orders or cash or direct checking account debits, etc….

To process a chargeback, you will need to contact the issuing bank (i.e. Citibank) not Visa/Mastercard. Your best bet is to ask what the contact number is for the merchant. Every merchant must supply a phone number when they set up an account for credit card payments. Your credit card issuer will ask what you have done to resolve the dispute with the merchant. YES, you will have to tell them exactly what you ordered, but not WHY. (It shouldn't be too terrible...this is the internet age and creditors have heard and seen it all...be thankful you don't have to process a chargeback for a blow-up doll that blew up the first time you used it! ) Just a touch of humor for an otherwise unfunny situation.

Call your issuing bank and ask them what they need from you. Be sure to tell them you feel you are a victim of fraud. Your money should be refunded quickly and most cards have fraud protection.
