I ordered from an IOP recently because the specific place was highly recommended by a friend of mine. I didn't even know it was in another country till I actually ordered. Call me naive but it's my first experience buying pharmaceuticals online.
The past few days I have been reading some threads and I am wondering why people would order from an IOP instead of a U.S OP and risk seizure. I'm a bit concerned about my package not making it to me as well. I REALLY wish I had found this forum before ordering.
So I was just wondering what you think the benefits are from ordering internationally as opposed to buying from a national company.
( I apologize if a similiar thread was already done.)
Edited to add:
Some of the benefits I see from ordering overseas is that you save some money because they don't have consult fees, you don't have to send in your private medical records because who knows who is actually viewing them and it seems overall more discreet and hassle free.

IOP's are significantly cheaper - however, sometimes you sacrifice price for service and/or quality of meds. Also,
a majority of IOP's don't require medical records on you, nor do they maintain any. Although recently - just by reading both threads, I'm not sure whose worse on the service end Domestic OP's or IOP's.

ops are a lot faster, do you want to wait 3 days or 20?

My personal reasons. $$$$$$$$$$ I can save a lot of money since I currently don't have health insurance. The extra wait is worth it to me. I have ordered quite a few packages from IOP over the last couple years. Not one seizure. (Knock on wood) I always do my homework about a potential IOP to try and reduce my risk. I like the no questions asked aspect. Some might find that wrong or unhealthy but my health is my business. I know what I have from countless doctor visits.

It also depends on what med you need. If you need strong pain relief, then your only real option is to do a consult. You're just going to have a near-impossible task finding any pain med stronger than Ultram or DHC from overseas, with the rare exception. If you need anti-anxiety meds, sleep meds, muscle relaxers, etc, then IOPs are often MUCH cheaper than the consult route. I could easily spend $200-$300 on average for a 3-month supply of, say, Xanax if that is all I need from a consult. OTOH I could shop around & find at least as good a deal, many times a much better deal and for a lesser price thru IOPs. The tradeoff is that with consults, you're usually guaranteed a fast and reliable delivery, while with IOPs you really should do some research on who ships well before placing an order. That being said, i've been ordering from IOPs for nearly a decade and my success rate has to be in the 98-99% success rate. Out of hundreds or more orders, only 2 or 3 never made it. A few orders have taken 6-8 weeks to arrive, but most take (IME) 2-3 weeks delivery. The one i'm using right now takes about 8-10 days. I can live with those odds......

I have never used IOP's myself but prefer the record OP. Yes, you send in medical records but you save money and get 2-3 refills for a decent price and can choose overnight or 2 day delivery and is as legal as you can get ordering online. There are no record OPs but very few now as many just closed down the last few weeks. They are very pricey, cost as much as a records op that includes the consult and at least 3 or 4 months meds depending if they offer 2 or 3 refills after the original order.
Read around on the board and write down some OP names (record and no record) and go to their websites and check out prices. This way you can make an informed decison based on your preferences and needs.
Med records are not hard to get as they are yours and your physcians have to give them to you. you don't have to tell them why you need them other than for your own personal records. You don't have to send alot of them just your main condition or complaint and maybe recent labs if you have any. You give out more personal info using a credit card then you do with med records and they are kept safe and secure by these OP's in my opnion.

Because you don't have to send your medical records - and for someone like me who tends to avoid the medical profession like the plague - this is a very important consideration. Now ask me why I avoid the medical profession - that is a story in itself!

I order meds from an IOP for my mother. Why? So that she doesn't have to cough up $60 every few months to go back to the doc to have him scribble on a piece of paper. $60 for 5 mins .. talk about a rip off.
For $60 I now buy her the meds she needs for those few months.
If you're on a med for the rest of your life, I would consider an IOP.

I personally agree with all of the above reasons. My main reason for using IOPs is the huge difference in price and the fact that I can order a few months supply all at once and forget all about the trouble of going to the doctor or OP to get my meds.

Okay, but here's a pretty dramatic example of how much cheaper IOP's can be. And to keep it relatively uncontroversial, Ill use a nonscheduled med as an example: Paxil.
First, let me say I dont have insurance currently. So a visit to my local Doctor to get a script is going to cost like $100. Then a local pharmacy costs about $255 for 90 pills. Checking around quite extensively, the cheapest I can find Paxil at a domestic OP (including any consultation fees) was about $278 for 90 pills.
I found an Indian IOP that sells an approved local brand of Paxil (XET; verified it though medicine books). It comes in blister packs with the manufacture date (two months prior to my ordering generally).
It's another subject, but I actually like blister packs better than the typical U.S. little brown bottle by the way. You know exactly what you are getting (little chance for mistakes; we've all heard horror stories about that) and how old it is (manufacture and expiration dates are usually listed).
Anyway, it costs $73 for 90 pills and arrives in two weeks. Thats less than 1/3 the cheapest price domestically.
Need I say why I am a big fan of IOPs?

Try www.myrxdepot.com. They are a domestic OP that does not require medical records and has a relatively easy, free online consultation form. I have ordered from them several times with success and, for a domestic OP, their prices are good. I am not familiar with Tramadol's prices but they carry it; 90 tabs of 50 mg for $101.82.

No Hassles ,No Questions
I have ordered from both OP's and IOP's you do get your Meds alot Quicker with OP's .But when it comes to price IOP's are the best and the Quality and Time for delivery has always been good for me. I would recommend Farmakos or Joseph both have GREAT prices Very Reliable.I don't if it's where i live or what but i read about saying that it takes anywhere from 2 Weeks to 30 Days to receive an order from an IOP the longest i have waited for an order from an IOP was 10 days for an order i placed with Joseph when i order from Farmako's i usually receive my meds in 4-6 Days now i live in South Florida i don't know if that has anything todo with but i Swear on IOP's i've never really had any problems ordering from IOP's nor have i had any problems ordering from OP's.that's my 2 Cents
