I got this e-mail from this op that I used once. I was wondering if this is true about the new laws in Florida. Does anyone know about it?
Thanks

On July 1st, 2004, Medical Web will no longer be able to ship medications into your state due to a recent change in the Florida medical laws regarding online care. Even though we disagree with this decision we have no choice but to comply. Medical Web would like to extend one last offer to you for being loyal. Until midnight on June 30th, 2004, your Medicalweb.com online doctor has agreed to provide you with a FREE CONSULTATION (a $49 value) as a way of saying thank you for you patronage.
Your coupon code required for this offer is xxxx.
You will have the ability to purchase your entire prescription during this time. To take advantage of this offer, please click on the link below:

Again, this offer expires at 12:01 am ET on July 1st 2004. Any order placed after this time will be automatically cancelled so please take advantage of this offer now!!
As always, feel free to contact one of our friendly representatives if you have any questions at 1-800-200-5202. They are available M-F from 9am to 6pm ET.
Your existing membership provides for a FastTrack order process so your order gets a Same Day physician response if placed before noon ET and allows for optional Next Business Day shipping.
Thank you,
The staff at MedicalWeb.com

What state are you in?
From my understanding of this law, it really only applies to OPs that are shipping into Florida, and it won't really have much effect if the pharm is based in Florida and shipping to other states.

Yes, there is a law passing 7-1-04...they need to be licensed in florida and I think the criteria for obtaining one is changing...sorry I don't know all the details.
What I'm interested in is when they say "entire prescription" does that mean you get refills too? All shipped at once?

I live in Florida. But as far as the refills go, I really don't know. I ordered some derma medicine from them such a long time ago I forgot all about them, only used them the one time.

The last thing I want to be is a fear monger here, however, I feel there hasn't been much in the way of discussion or information available about this new law. It may or may not have A large impact next week.
This thread from the free side contains Apothesys take on it.

This thread, also from the free side contains Rocky_ONC's take on things. Rocky had his lawyer look into it.

This is just an opinion from the Rx Affiliate Forum

Which are the pharmacies that will be continuing with controlled meds post July 1st.
Internet pharmacies requiring a valid doctor's prescriptionan from an established doctor-patient relationship will get a permit, i.e. Walgreens, Rite-aid, Eckerds, Savon, etc. OPs enlisting the services of pen doctors will not.

Please, those with good 'net research abilities or legal backgrounds, let's put our collective efforts together and see where we stand!
With all due respect to the sources cited above, are we sure their descriptions of July 1st. events represent the extent of the law?
Next week at this time, whether your hotdeal comes on Saturday or Monday may have been the least of your problems!
