Flaming/Flame Wars
Flaming is reacting to someone's board posting or PM in a hostile manner by publicly chastising the person or bombarding the person with nasty posts or PM's. Flaming may occur to users that engage in behavior that violates what is considered proper board netiquette. A flame war occurs when two or more users flame each other in an escalating manner that threatens to continue unabated. If you notice a flame war developing just notify the moderator or adminitrator and let them handle it. Do not take part in flame wars. If you do you will be banned even if you did not start it :-)

Viagra & Levitra - What to expect?
      #168937 - 06/15/04 03:04 PM

Okay, this may be a silly question. But I was able to get samples of both these meds from the docs I work for, but my husband has been afraid to try them. He's 45 and still very much the "romeo", just not as often or, shall we say, "long lasting" as we both would like at times.

Can ANY of you gentlemen (or ladies?) offer their experiences. Of course, you may PM me if you feel more comfortable with that.

OH... I MUST add... hubbie is 45 and has had a pacemaker since 42. He has a rare syndrome called "carotid hyper-sensitivity syndrome" where pressure on the carotid vein stops his heart. Uh... yeah... NOT fun. Thus, the pacemaker was implanted to kick in when need be. As I understand these medications do not effect that type of heart "syndrome".

Okay, thanks again folks!
Janet

re: to janets concerning levitra and viagra. can't comment on levitra-have never tried it. but i am a heavy tobacco user,(smokeless-10 times as strong as smoking), and from my research i have learned that tobacco use is a certain cause of erectile dysfunction. anyway, i have used viagra for a year or two,(about once a week), and it works wonders! i'm 46, and without it i would go soft in about 5 minutes. with it, i can go on and on as long as i want. my sweetheart thinks i'm a real stud. she knows i use the viagra and she was okay with it once i convinced her that the erections aren't spontaneous-she's responsible for that. women can be so insecure...(men, too.).

David, thanks SO much for your response. I will be curious to hear from others. I don't really know that it's erectile dysfunction, per se... He just can't go 20 times a week like we used to!

But you mention insecurity... THAT's ME since this has occurred! Isn't it strange how it's the norm & acceptable for women to "not be in the mood" and that it takes quite a lot (you know what I mean) to rev up our engines. BUT, if a man is suddenly, or gradually, impotent... well it's been like this TOTALLY earth-shatteringly insecure time for me. Thoughts of if he's having an affair (absolutely not), thinking I'm too fat (I'm 5'4" and 113 lb), that I just don't "do" it for him anymore, etc. etc. etc.

However, when we do have "relations" (only about once or twice a week), well... it's wonderful.

Ah, the complexities of the human body, the human mind, and growing older!

Thanks again! Anybody else with experience or expertise?

Janet
