HI, does anyone know if there is something you can take for a drug test, that will cover up the parts per million. The parts per are like 3 or 4 a day, what if you take more that? A drug test will show the level of hydro wont it? I am perscribed this by my dr. but only 3 a day. It is a urine test i have to take so i'm not sure what to do about this. Yes i have the bottle to show but what about the level being higher than its suppose to be? If anyone could help me with this i would feel a lot better!! Thanks

The only way to show PPM is using gas chromatography--which is expensive. Most urine tests are strip tests which detect only whether a drug is present in excess of the test parameters. Some strip tests won't even detect hydrocodone, some will. If you have a recent prescription, DON'T WORRY ABOUT IT.

If it's an employment screen. The panel would identify the presence of opiods, and then processed with a MSGC test which usually confirms the presence of the drugs to avoid a lab error. If you have a script, you have nothing to worry about.
If it's a medical test by a Dr. (ie Bupe Dr. or you are a new patient) it is possible to measure levels as they decrease over time and represent valuable information that Dr.'s need to determine if 1) the patient is being honest
2) potential abuse.
Hopefully your screen is for employment, and you only have the hydro present. Many debates about privacy and employee/employer relationships, but you will be fine if it is a pre-employment screen and you let them know up front about your prescription. I have several friends who have got new jobs in this situation.

Don't worry! Even if an attempt was made to quantify the amount of med in your system, this level varies due to many factors. When you last ate, the amount of liquids you have taken in, your individual metabolism all have an effect on a drug screen. Don't worry!

there is this drink you can buy at the drug store that flushes you system. you take it an hour before the test.
it makes you feel crazy but it works. also buy some golden seal and take alot of it and drink a ton of water.
however if you have a script, you are probably ok.

I wouldn't worry about it. I know that here in Ohio, as long as you show them the prescription bottle, they don't report on the substance. I was in your shoes once, except I was taking Darvocet. I showed them the prescription bottle, and they wrote it down, and sent it to the lab with my urine. By the way, the test came back clean, and I was taking 2 more tablets per day than what my doctor wrote the script for.

Forgot to add that I know for a fact that alot of labs now test for the stuff you drink. And you will fail If they find the drink. I know many who tried that, and failed, because they tried to hide something.

I also was taking a prescription many more than directions said(only cause the brand new doc. in a different state made it like one a day for a migraine) which I would normally always take 2 just to start and the 1 -2 every 4 hours later.
But anyways, i forgot to take the bottle w/me so i just took the test and figured if it came up i would show/bring the bottle to them for i had proof that it was a brand new script.
It didn't even show up - someone once told me that if u take something for a long time (not sure exactly how he put it but,) the levels like say for someone that does not normally take a pain killer ever (mr. tums -that i live with) it showes on their test. but for someone that has constant pain and take pk on a reg. basis it doesn't show up. Something about the body process it different over a period of time vs the person that would not normally take medications of anysort. like its not a foreign substance for us - but for mr. tums its definetly foreign!!
i wouldn't worry about it too much. ~alot easier said!
