I had a discogram last month, which killed me with pain, and till this day I still friggin kill from it.
anyway, my CTScan showed disc height narrowing...bone on bone...my disc above that show abnormality...ruptured disc..Then, not only do I have severe arthritis there I find out that the small hole that the spinal cord go through, in the disc, has a tear around that now with a hole in it..where the nerves are being squeezed.....
So now they moving onto a disectomy...pardon the spelling. Has anyone ever had this???
I just turned 30 years old and not only my family, friends of mine but my Dr cannot even fathom why I am going through this at such a young age....ugh....I just want this fixed so I can do the things I normally do, without pain....I'm stubborn so, even though I know I'm causing myself more harm then good...I do things I shouldn't anyway.....stupid me but.....I guess I bloack it out.
Thanks
Vin

Doc, you're a pain in my pain
dont wait get surgey asap. the longer u wait the more damage and the more chance for 'chronic pain'. also is a fusion an option. often times a discectomy is short term and then get a fusion. if u have to chooses a fussion may be better. check with your MD I went stright for a fusion and glad i did.

Ask and it will be given to you Matthew 7:7
I would go for a fusion w/placement of cages .... if you just get a discectomy there's nothing to maintain disc height and the nerve roots will be compressed...happened to me...and I'm the worse for it...so if you have to have surgery, go for the big one...
Thanks for the replys. I will defintely bring it up. Chronic pain....whew...I've had that for years.
I wonder though. How was the disectomy??? Painful?? nothing but a breeze? I ask cause they told me I would be awake for the disectomy....I was awake for the discogram and that sucked!
Thanks again
