I've been trying phentermine for a couple of weeks now and it is not working for me at all. The first day it made me jittery but I was still just as hungry as ever. After that first day, I felt nothing. It is as if I am taking nothing now and even though I have desperately tried restricting my diet, I have actually gained a few pounds! That could be because I just started the birth control pill again though. Hubby is getting the big V next month so I am only going to finish this pack.
I have never tried any other prescription diet pills. I realize that they aren't meant for long term use. What is stronger than phentermine? Should I try one of those fat blockers like Xenical?
xenical has to be used with caution...if you eat too much fat (and that's NOT a lot) you'll end up with 'dumping syndrome" nasty, uncontrollable diarrhea....I tried weight watchers and was surprised at how much food you get to eat each day....so maybe look into that ....also, carb restricted diets work, if you cut out ALL carbs...and you're never hungry cuz you eat lots of meat, fat, protein...you get your body into a state of ketoacidosis and they body uses fat for fuel...I lost 20 pounds on the atkins diet...but you have to be STRICT...after the first week, your cravings for carbs go away...just some alternative suggestions...good luck
I have tried Xenical. It just blocks your fat absorption. I think it would be best to use Xenical and an appetite-suppressing drug together. I know someone who did that with great luck, she lost a lot of weight. I think Didrex is a great appetite-suppressing drug. My friend who did so well used Xenical and Meridia. Meridia can interfere with anti-depressant drugs - get all the facts before you do anything!
