I am a long enough user of Hydrocodone to feel crappy & pretty worthless for days upon discontinuing (until I can resume). Originally it was for Migraines/Cluster headaches, and symptoms that are borderline FibroMyalgia.
Now after preventive treatments, the flareup symptoms don't seem as bad. So I'm going to attempt:
- Keeping up on the preventative treatment.
- Going to OTC pain relievers, although now they are about the same as a placebo or a candy bar, even with ridiculously high doses.
- Adding DPLA (D & L Phenylalanine) and Tyrosine as supplements.
- Tapering off on HC, finally going to Temgesic when I take the big leap.
So there is a question in here somewhere, so bear with me.
- Can anyone PM me with a good source for Temgesic (or something perhaps better)?
- Isn't it odd that HC is relatively easy to find, while something like Temgesic is nowhere to be found? Feel free to contribute any conspiracy theories.
- Is there any good, worthwhile research on Pain Management meds, perhaps for a new generation/class that works well, for long term use, without feeling like you want to hang yourself if your dosage is low because of running low or ineffectiveness/flareups, and resolving tolerance issues from long term use?
As life expectancy increases, this is going to be more & more of an issue. I'd rather have a good quality and active long life rather than feeling like Best if kept off the board for my last 20-30 years.
