I really don't know but it's done all the time. I have had a few orders seized b4 so I imagine it is if you don't have a perscription from a U.S. doctor.

Soma is scheduled in a handful of states but even if its not in yours, importation of prescription medication is illegal unless you have both a prescription and an import license.

Really? "Import license"? Maybe you're confusing FDA's rules with DEA's import license to for controlled substances, but as you say, carisoprodol is not federally scheduled ... so it doesn't make sense or you're using the wrong terms. FDA doesn't call it an import license. Non-scheduled medications are not import controlled like controlled substances and munitions ... both of which require import licenses.
Yes, the FDA can seize carisoprodol or ask you to fax them a prescription before they release it. It happened to me once so i know it can happen. But there was no crime that they could charge me with.
Has anyone EVER been convicted of this supposed crime after receiving personal-use quantities of drugs that are not controlled substances? No. Nobody. Ever.
The FFD&C Act makes it illegal, but the FDA would have to try to prosecute the SENDER of unapproved drugs, who is by definition outside of U.S. jurisdiction. AFAIK, it's never happened except for outfits that were smuggling in commercial quantities of counterfeit and expensive name-brand drugs and getting them into the U.S. pharmacy distribution chain.

She is correct. The FDA/DEA can refuse a order of asprin, becasue "this med appears to be avaliable in the US" this is one of many excuses they can use to deny a med, including "improper labeling(s)", "no return addy", no disclosure of meds on importation sheet" etc, etc.
Bottom line if they want it, you cant have it!
