Feds Raid Carnegie Pharmacy
POSTED: 5:12 pm EDT May 20, 2004
A Carnegie pharmacy that sold prescription drugs on the Internet was raided by federal agents and local police, Channel 4's Shannon Perrine reported Thursday.
Officials with the U.S. Drug Enforcement Administration, the Internal Revenue Service and Carnegie police said their search of CMC Pharmacy on Main Street was part of a nationwide investigation of Internet pharmacies.

Is CMC Pharmacy associated with Southwest Medical Group?
http://www.southwestmedicalgroup.com/pricing_cmc.asp
They seem really legit... they require prior prescriptions.

Yes,
CMC was the pharmacy used by swmg. I read in another thread that swmg would be going to Universal pharmacy. I don't know anything other than that. I don't know if those of us who have refills coming will be affected by this or not. Going to call swmg asap. I also read that they are not taking any new patients at this time, but I don't know about that either.

This REALLY bites. SouthwestMedicalGroup.com & Dr. Lockridge were one of, if not THE most legitimate, highly thought of OP/Physician combinations. If the DEA was able to shut down CMC and Dr. Lockridge, this does not bode well at ALL for the other less stringent OPs. As much as it pains me to say this, I think it would behoove many members to start tapers NOW before being cut off cold turkey - I also suggest giving very serious thought to local PMDs, methadone clinics, Subutex/Suboxone prescribers, and/or rehab/detox.

There's another thread about Lockridge somewhere. Trampy had posted about it, I don't remember if it's here or VIP. But someone had looked up Lockridge's licensing information and pasted the info. It says he's not even licensed, and it appears it's been that way since 1985...
If anyone finds that post, please post it here.

Here's all the info I'm comfortable posting:
Licensee Name : LOCKRIDGE,WILLIAMROBERT
License Status : NULL AND VOID
Expiration Date : 12/31/1985
Original Issue Date : 02/08/1982
This is the link to the VIP board thread with more info: link
Edit: In another thread, Billylll found out he is in fact licensed in NJ (although suspended) and what was posted on the VIP Board was a mistake. The note from SWMG in buey's post was also added on the VIP Board. Note that no one has found a valid DEA number for him yet.
It is hard to tell what is really going on here.

This is appalling if true. I'm sorry folks, but this makes me angry if this Dr. is not licensed. Patients do assume that they are talking to a licensed physician during their consults, are we not?
However, I know that there is more than one Doctor Lockridge in the country. Let's be sure this is the one that was with SWMG.

I agree being pissed over an unlicensed doctor.
But we do know that it is definitely him given his DEA number. I just wasn't comfortable posting all of his personally identifiable information on the Free Board.
I wouldn't expect refills...

Wow....I am shocked. No, I would not expect patients to get refills either. Now I understand why the DEA shut down CMC. Don't know what is going on with St Petes and TDI though...
If this is all true, I'd say Dr. Lockridge is in a lot of hot water with the law.

Posted on another board-
Members,
It is truly amazing how everyone here is so quick to judge without any correct information. Dr. Lockridge is indeed a licensed physician with a MD and MBA. He has had a flawless record up until this incident with the pharmacy and DEA. SWMG would never hire, consult with or even consider using any physician who is not licensed both by state and DEA standards. He has had his license suspended because of the investigation ongoing by the DEA and DOJ on all Internet pharmacies. You are wasting your time trying to dig up negative findings on this physician who for the past two years has dedicated his time and effort into helping all of SWMG's patients. Take a step back for a minute and think, would a pharmacy fill for an unlicensed doctor, would we hire an unlicensed doctor and would you use a doctor without a valid license. I don't think so. If you really are looking in the right place you will find that Dr. Lockridge has been practicing medicine in New York and New Jersey for over 30 years. I don't mean to be so harsh but some of you must get a kick out of posting uneducated responses and are making this already unfortunate situation a whole lot worse when all we are trying to do is get back up to help you all out in a timly manner. We would appreciate it if you would support us instead of trying to make things more difficult while we are restructuring our business to better your needs as soon as possible.
We thank all of you that have posted positive responses to this nonsense and really hope the ones who don't have a clue to what is going on stop posting negatives.
We are doing our best to get back up for all of you by as early as next week.
Have a nice weekend to all,
Dave - SWMG

A DEA # was found, since suspended.
Y'all should have paid for the VIP board. There is a lot more info over there.

I have to point out that you can be an M.D. and not have a DEA license to rx controlled meds to patients. The DEA can suspend, revoke, put on a probation... they hold the pharmacy keys.
