I think it's being reclassified to a sch II from a sch III drug and it's not going to be avalible through an op.

In the US, DHC is only available in a combo with tylenol, I forget the brand name, which would make it Sch III and probably not much more appealing than Tylenol 4.
As far as I am aware it is not available in US as a stand-alone time-release form like Contugesic in Europe. If it were, it would be Sch II.
Apparently Contugesic has been rescheduled in europe making it much more difficult to obtain. None of the IOP's that used to carry it, seem to have it any longer.

I believe that I saw it on gigapharma.com's site. It might have been out of stock, though. They have a pretty good selection of pain meds,

Yes, I think it's going by the wayside for some reason. None of the OPs that used to have it carry it now. I haven't heard about a schedule change though. Do they do that in Europe??
None of the OPs have said anything other than "out of stock temporarily"
I found it very effective for pain.

I have seen it on an OP but I didn't know what it was. What exactly is it used for and how strong is it?

Dihydrocodeine is labeled as co-dydramol in great britain where it was first developed and used in research trials for control of post-operative pain. In the states, it falls under the label Synalgos DC and is packaged with caffeine and aspirin. It comes in "pain packs" and is schedule III. Not really a first choice for post-op pain, but has been somewhat effective for migrains when coupled w/ caffeine. Consequently, it can be had real cheap in Mexico so long as the pharmacists down there cannot manage to fool you into thinking it is hydro and charge more.
