Medrol

Besides all my other problems, I had my arm go numb last week for about 15 hours. Then after that, I started having pain in my neck, and headache on one side of my head. My doctor gave me these pills that I take 6 the first day, 5 the next and so on, I'll be taking them for six days. I think they are a steroid.

Well, normally I take valium to sleep, but the paper that came with them says not to take barbiturates, So, what am I supposed to do? Not sleep for 6 days?

Does anyone have any suggestions?

J

Valium isnt a barbituate, is Medrol? Maybe if this combo isnt allowed, perhaps Ambiem or Sonata would help.

Finished off the pack yesterday, and I didn't get any relief from it either. My doctor wants to try it again, but I don't think I want to take those things again, too many side effects.

About the valium, I just decided to go without it during the time I was on the dose-pak, so I slept very fitfully for those 6 days. It'll be nice to be able to take a valium tonight and sleep all night long.

This post comes too late, but for future reference, valium (sonata, ambien) are not barbiturates. Valium is in a class of meds known as the "benzodiazipines" which are for anxiety, muscle relaxation, and calm you to sleep.

The benzos are of the post-barbiturate era, because barbiturates have more dangerous side effects and couldn't be taken well with other meds. An example is phenobarbital.

They are a different class of meds so you could have taken them; also checked the links for a medical reference such as the RX-List!

Have you been to the chiropractor or do you have nerve damage of any kind?
