that is so horrible, I do not know what to say except to change doctors, or ask for a second opiniion. Especially with your test results.
And in the meanwhile, do the OP thing. With your records and issue, it is a temporary solution to a permnant problem.

Hi Tiff,
You asked for advice so here's mine: Search the US OP section. Read feedback about each one and choose the one you want to go with. Fax them your medical documentation. You'll get a doctor consult and the meds you need. Good luck. Hope you'll be feeling better soon.

Hi,
I don't know what is wrong with the
medical profession anymore they seem to
all be young snot nosed brats with a
very large attitude
problem. why must
there always be a smug remark
when you ask for help
for pain I don't get it the antidepressants they
hand out by the bottle full can be just as habit forming
as any pain med. Why do they think that just because
you have pain you are depressed? I ask my doctor
that same question he just stared at me like I was
crazy I admit I do get a little depressed sometimes
but I beleive it is caused from the pain not the other way around.
I agree you need a second option or try the op's.
I wish you luck whatever you decide to do. D.

I would look online for your state medical licensing board.
If they can not accept the complaint, they can direct you to the authority that will.
Good luck and please follow through. Shame on that doctor.

Tiff, I don't know how old you are, and not that it *should* matter, but I've noticed some Drs. (including my own) have serious problems prescribing anything but a prn amount of pain medication to people under 80, lol. Okay, that's not supposed to be funny, but it is and it's also very true. I laughed so hard when I went and asked my Dr. if while I'm playing volleyball I could have 5 more 5/325 percs a month and he told me I was too young to be having this kind of pain and they could see it if I was like 80 and still working (I mean this in the sense that at 80, if it helped me to go back to work, not that I'm not currently still working because I most certainly am, Lol). The part that made me laugh was that I told this to my friend who then in turn retorted that this is because a 60 y/o who's been engulfed in flames and is covered in severe burns is going to be in much more pain than a 20 year old who has experienced the exact same thing and that's just known! Okay, it's always good to shed a little humor on such things Keep trying- switch Drs. Do what you have to do, but do not go undermedicated.

The plain and simple reason for the shameless pushing of anti-depressants is this: MONEY. Any doctor who says he hasn't been on a gambling weekend to Nassau, a golfing trip or a nice dinner at the expense of Lilly or whoever is a LIAR. AD's tend to be quite expensive as we all know. There is huge incentive on the part of drug manufacturers to get their "drug of the month" out there. The reason that opiates aren't pushed is because they are relatively inexpensive. Yes, I know the long acting variety can be VERY expensive but a bottle of 5/500 is practically free. They have been around forever and there is no longer a financial incentive. I saw this all the time at work. The three hour lunches with drug reps where patients were told the doctor was called to surgery. It was sickening. I was never 'invited' or given any perks because I was but a lowly practitioner. Funny, because I had nearly identical prescribing priveleges. It is all about money. You make a good point in that AD's can be and often times are horribly addicting. But the all mighty buck...........Peace, Daisy

I am 29 which is anther problem since the stenosis is dengerative and is normaly seen in people over 50, it is absurd the way some of these dr.s treat younger people as if they should all always be the picture of health! Or if you are any bit over weight that is where all your problems are steming from then lol...well I lost all my extra weight and said ok now whats the problem.....thank you all for help, I will keep trying!

Weight *may* and most likely will aggrivate your condition, but it does not cause it. It certainly doesn't help it, but you did NOT herniate your discs by being overweight! An injury caused this- the fact that they won't treat it is absurd!

I would just call her and tell her that the medication she gave you is not working. If she won't give you something stronger, you need a new doctor.
