i am a man[lets just get that out of the way]
recently my dr. found a lump or mass growing under my right nipple. at first they hoped it might just be an infection but the when i briefly saw a surgon he said the mass was too hard to be an infection and made an appointment for me yo see a breast specialist . now my regular dr told me some drugs cause enlarged breasts but that would happen on both sides not only one.the surgon said he really could not guess what it was but it could be a toumer[canser] mabey im onley 29 years old and this surgen had me pretty scared.
then my aunt who is a nurse said they had a paitiant who had the same symptoms went through all the tests ill have to go through and it turned out to be "Gynaecomastia" i dont know if he had it on both sides or just one like my right side. anyway just wondering if any body heard of it and if its a common thing i abused benzos and opiots for almost ten years any info would be verry helpfull
Years of opiate use (usually abuse as you stated you abused them - as to not scare our boys here!)decreases testosterone and can cause gynecomastia. You can use testosterone replacement therapy or liposuction to get rid of it from what I understand.
---I had to add that normally it does happen on both sides as it is the growth of breast tissue - and obviously that normally happens rather evenly.
It "sounds" like a cyst - although I am NO doctor and don't pretend to be. Cysts are usually benign and don't even require removal if it doesn't bother you. Cysts can be hard or soft - can hurt or not hurt at all. They usually can be moved under the skin and are also easy for them to dignose with a biopsy.
thanks thornberry but now were thinking its not from the drugs at all because it is only on one side and is verry hard and sore thanks for the response
