I have been on Neurontin for about 6 months now without any problems at all. But all of the sudden I have started to have some really strange side effects. I believe that I have started having very bad vertigo. I started after I changed brands of the drug. I never knew that different drug companies would make a difference with a drug. Has anyone else had this happen?

Yes, I hate that drug!! I almost fell off a second story patio with this, the morning after taking it. Severe side effects. I stopped taking that day.
Speak to your doctor, you may need to titrate it down...

I've recently begun tapering off neurontin after five or so years of use. I didn't even realize there was another "brand", even from IOP's.
The side effects I experienced when first starting neurontin were SEVERE sleepiness (fell asleep while someone was talking to me--and almost at the wheel of my car) and cognitive problems. I used to have a very broad vocabulary from which to choose my words. Eventually it seemed I had to stick with the shortest, least descriptive words possible, that is if my brain could even "grasp" the correct word at all! This meant often stopping mid-sentence. People at work saw a huge difference in my verbal abilitites. This SE NEVER went away.
Vertigo wouldn't surprise me in the least though. Perhaps lower your dosage. There's such a wide range of safe dosages for Neurontin. I'm amazed at the dosage levels some people are able to handle.

I believe it's an anti-seizure med that is being given out alot lately for many different problems/illnesses. I had it pushed on me for Fibro, but threw the script away after reading all the side effects.

hey! I HATE Neurontin. I was on it for a while for sleep, then anxiety and mood-stabilization (all of this was off-label, of course). Anyway, the stuff works as a sleeping pill but made me stupid and confused when I took it during the day and sometimes actually caused me anxiety. Ugh. Bad stuf. How much are you taking?
