I was prescribed OxyIR for breakthrough pain (in conjunction with my usual methadone) and had both filled at my usual pharmacy (Walgreens) and they filled the OxyIR with a brand called Ethex.
None of the pill ID sites list it as a generic, so it's either a relatively new generic or one so obsolete it wasn't worth including on the databases.
Has anyone ever used Ethex generic OxyIR? If so, how did it rate compared to the Roxane formulary of the same medication?

It's identical. don't let the psychology of brand name recognition mess with your head

Yep, orange/white capsule with 041 on it. No complaints.
Used the first OxyIR in conjunction with my methadone and it handled my extra pain surprisingly well--especially since the receptionist made my pain clinic appointment 2 days after my meds supply ran out. Rather than call and reschedule and be a pain, I just went without. I got a good lesson in how well my meds control my pain when I had to face it again without ANY meds. UGH! Thankfully I didn't have much withdrawal on top of my pain. Feeling much better tonight.
Just to save anyone else the same problem--if you get a 30-day supply of meds on the 15th (for example) and the receptionist schedules you the next month for the 15th and it's a 31-day month, you'll be out of meds a full day before your appointment. I will never allow this to happen again.
