It doesn't work. Let me guess, is your doctor from a foriegn country? I'm not prejudiced but the drug companies have convinced them that this Best if kept off the board works and it doesn't. They can prescribe it easily because it doesn't have the addictice properties of say a Xanax or Valium...IMHO it's also worthless.

My PCP put me on this Best if kept off the board and it has helped nothing, she said give it a couple weeks, but still nothing. And like was said, it's easy for them to script for. Sorry that your Doc won't help you with something better.

My friend was on this and it made him really sick. He is now trying to get it all out of his system. He couldn't believe how weird he felt. He couldn't hardly function.

I'm afraid I have to agree with everyone else. I was prescribed Buspar a long time ago by a doctor from Pakistan (no offense) and it made me SO paranoid I didn't leave my apartment for a week. I flushed it down the toilet, the only drug I have ever flushed down the toilet. I have heard some people say they like it, everyone is different so I guess it wouldn't hurt to try but it sure did play havoc with my mind.

Despite being a chronic pain patient, I rarely post. However, the topic of Buspar is one with which I am familiar - indirectly.

Buspar is prescribed, alone and in combination with other meds, for dogs with behavioral problems - our dog was on it. Luckily, we got free samples since a monthly supply of Buspar costs plenty.

Did it help? By itself, not really. He showed an improvement, however, when the Buspar was used in conjunction with 5mg. Valium. Side effects? Excessive thirst.

Buspar is yet another drug that has failed me. all anti depressants and anti anxietys have failed me miserably. if your thinking about xanax, i found that even xanax does nothing for anxiety unless you are having a severe panic attack. rather than helping anxiety it makes me tired and feel like Best if kept off the board, while still Phobic. but everyones different i guess.

tramadol is the best thing at treating my anxiety. i have found that tramadol's monoamine effects are actually better than all antidepressants i have tried (about 6 or 7 of them including an MAOI, a tricyclic, and SSRIs/NASSRIs/NARIs) it may also be that tramadol might be more selective (than regular opioids) in what opioid receptors its metabolite binds too and that this is synergestic with its serotonin and noradrenaline reuptake mechanism.

anyway i much prefer tramadol over both antidepressants and over opioids such as hydrocodone. the latter shows that a pure and broad opioid mechanism is NOT what my brain is looking for, although i must assume a partial opioid mechanism contributes in part to tramadols effecacy

The lady doctor that prescribed it to me is 100% american young women in her early 30's and she is not even a doctor and she is like an physicians assistant who does not even have her dea license, so she was even unable to script me endol for my cough, but she was nice, so I guess I should not go to the pharmacy and pay the $80 to buy it?? what else should I suggest to her?
