First Seizure Notice
      #157024 - 04/23/04 01:55 PM

Well I got my first seizure notice.
From an Aussie site, on an order made last Sept (03)
And this is April.

They've been holding on to it that long!

It's not MY problem (I know that)

But it is still OUR problem and WE know that!

Our tax dollars at work This is good information for people who have orders that have vanished, and also its one of the reasons I've taken a break from IOPs. I get stressed after a month, 6 months would send me off the rails.

I'm still waiting for an order from an IOP that ships out of Pakistan, from about a year ago! Well, I don't really expect to see the meds, but I do half expect a seizure notice to drift into my mailbox sooner or later.

I have also basically stopped ordering IOP, except for non controlled meds like effervescent aspirin (similar to alka seltzer but with vitamin C added) and Nizoral shampoo (which is ruinously expensive in the stronger prescription strength that I need). But even those packages (mostly from thailand) make me nervous !!!!!!!!!!

Well.........that's good to know Dave. Not really a huge deal or anything, but I'm sure it's a little unnerving to get one of those. I've always been afraid to order from IOP's, ordered from Biotran a couple of times but that's it, too scared now. Thanks for letting us know and for others that have been waiting for that long......very possible they will get the same.

SkyQueen, I'm a lot like you. IOPs scare the heck out of me now. It just seems to make a lot more sense to get your meds from US sources. I mean, if you've got records that document the need for the meds you're requesting, what's the harm in using the US sites? Other than the outrageous consult rates and better prices on the meds themselves. I'm laughing at myself now that I realize I just gave myself the answer to my own question...

In my opinion, these consult rates have gotten a little out of control. I've had only one consult, so I don't have all that much experience with them, but my one consult was all of maybe 2 minutes. And it was with a PA, not even a doctor. I suppose this was because they already had my records on file and just wanted to know what it was I needed. I was a little bit upset that I paid so much money for such a short, "what is it you want" type of conversation. I would have felt so much better if I had gotten to talk to an actual physician rather than a PA. Then I would not have minded paying the high consult charge. But, in the end I got the meds I needed so I guess I can't really complain, right? The consult was painless, although I found it hard to get a word in edgewise with the guy... possibly because he was very busy and didn't have time for my details. But he did authorize the meds, so like I said, I can't whine about it.

And going back to the original subject of this post, I guess that's the appeal of the IOPs. No consult. Lower med fees. I suppose I was overlooking the pros of IOPs when I made my original statement about "what's the harm in going with a US OP?" LOL But anyway, I am also sticking with the US OPs now. Especially since this election year is no doubt going to focus on (amoung many things) obtaining meds either from Canada or just over the internet in general, I think it's going to be a big campaign subject.

But I'm not going to turn this into a political discussion. God knows that's NOT what I'm in the mood for right now!

The only thing I use IOPs for is Ultram. The prices are very low compared to the US and I've never had any problems. They always show up in about 2 weeks.
