I'm a member of the free board, and find it very useful, with plenty of posts and information.
Why join the VIP board? I guess it's good to support the site as a paying member, and some discounts are available. I have the idea that the VIP board has a limited number of posts. Is this the case? Also, on the VIP board, are the free posts intermingled, or do you have to look at both places.
Are the quality of the posts and information higher or better on the VIP side?
Thanks for anyone's information or experiences about this.

Yes, there is more info in addition to the discounts. I'm not a member now, but I was and remember they can talk about more than we can here. There's also a support group kind of thing too, from what I remember.

If you enjoy the freeboard the VIP board is well worth the money. I waited almost 5 months to join the VIP side and now wish I had joined from day one. Its the same but its not, if that makes sense. It has a feel all its own, and in my opinion its more relaxed than the freeboard.

There's also discussion of regional local doctors. It's basically the same forums we have here plus a few extra. The good thing is, if you're researching an OP, you get both Free Board Feedback & Gen Info. plus VIP Board Feedback & Gen Info. And yeah, it pays for itself with the VIP discounts, but there's so much more.

I joined the VIP and the freeboards at pretty much the same time. But I end up posting a lot more over here, for no particular reason.
Don't forget on the VIP side they have the Happy Hour forum, where veteran members post dirty jokes! That alone is worth the price of VIP membership!
Actually as Yawkaw pointed out, you can very quickly get back your membership $ by taking advantage of the VIP discounts.
And if you are worried about "fitting in" over on the VIP side, just remember that as a rule of thumb VIP members are smarter, but freeboard members are better looking!

I am a VIP member & really appreciate the support & happy hour forums.  I don't generally use US OP's so the discounts are not much of a factor for me, but the freer posting ability made it worth the $49, IMO. Plus, I am supporting both sides of a great board!

I enjoy both boards.
The discounts on the VIP side make the cost neglible if you use participating OPs. You actually may end up ahead financially.
This freeboard reminds me of the wild west sometimes, but it has almost immediate feedback.
The VIP board is somewhat less urgent, but many solid friendships are made there. And again the discounts are great.
And there are members there who don't post often here. Good people, just a bit less willing to deal with confrontation.

i was a vip member 2 years ago i dont think they offered discount codes then. i was wondering do the codes change and if so how often. thanks.
