This seems like a silly question, but while paying through paypal, it didn't give me a chance to enter a DB user ID or password.
It was made from the same email this account was registered under, so I hope this'll be easy for a mod to fix.

I hope someone will respond to your post. I am new to DB and tried to purchase a 6 month VIP membership several times with no success. I first tried ibill and it would not work. Then I noticed you could pay via Paypal. I tried that but it says "error contact merchant" each time I try. I did send a note to DB but did not receive a reply. I have used Paypal many times to pay for items I purchased on auction and online stores, so I have an account with them and have never had a problem. Thanks for posting this question. Perhaps someone can help both of us

Yeah, I sure hope so. lol The paypal transaction was complete, so I'm out the $29 either way. I'm not sure why I didn't get the step in the paypal order that lets you put in comments. I've also used paypal alot, mostly for ebay stuff.

Tantalus is this your first time as a VIP? I'm glad you brought this up - I'm currently a VIP and my membership expires on April 1st, so I want to make sure and keep my user name and was going to try Paypal. Let me know if you hear from DB? I imagine since your email address is the same you shouldn't have any problems....but if you haven't been a VIP before you have to choose a user name and password, etc. I guess I'll send DB a PM and confirm the process.

I got an email with a VIP pass for the same username.
And yes, this is the first time I've ever been a VIP member. I would have been more patient about getting my password, but I placed my first ever OP order with rxhotdeals with the discount just a few minutes after paying for my VIP membership.

Paypal subscription are not instant
Those using Paypal should write their desired username and password in the notes of the payment and should allow a bit of time for us to activate the subscription.
If your account is not activated within 24 hours you should send an email to
We will double the subscription period  if we take longer than 48 hours to activate :-)
Existing VIP members can also renew using Paypal and will be able to continue using their existing VIP board accounts.

I just paid for a 6 month subscription but didn't add a note. I just now read this thread. I did send a PM to ask what to do next. Hope I get the info soon.
I thought I could use this ID and password, but it didn't work. I was signed in while I used the paypal link.

Dee, did you get a confirmation email from DB confirming your payment? You should have - just reply to that email addy and tell them what user name and password you choose for the VIP side, they can take care of it for you that way.

Yes, I did. Thanks. I have another family member who wants to join to. I'm giving him lessons on DB right now, when I don't know much myself. lol
Thanks to all the people here on this board for all the help and information. People like you, and others that answer questions and give guidance is such a great thing. Thanks to you and all the others who take the time to answer posts.

I have the same problem. I just paid for a six month subscription to the VIP area and didn't see where I was supposed to enter a user name and password. Help! Admin! What should I do? I'll send you a PM. Do I include the password and user name I want to use in my PM?

I too was confused until reading this thread. Perhaps DB could post this information clearly during the sign-up process. It would make a lot of ppl happy and give you less work to do, e.g. returning all the emails!
