Hello everyone,
A friend of mine got really stupid and supposedly wrote over a prescription by the doctor for a schedule 3. While at the pharmacy, the pharmacist said she could not fill the script without talking to the doctor because it looked like the script had been traced over. Friend politely told the pharmacist that he needed to talk to a family member and find out if somebody had been messing around. He was given back the supposedly bad script and left the pharmacy as if on the phone calling home. Any danger here of being nailed if the pharmacy does not even have the supposedly falsified script?
I should have added that he went to two pharmacies and was given back the script at both pharmacies with the same reply, only at the first pharmacy, he called back and told the pharmacist that nobody had altered the script and asked if he should just throw the script away...the pharmacist said yes...still any danger of getting busted?
...of course I could be crazy and this could all be a dream, I have been told this before.
Dear Supposed Friend of Kansas Who May Only Exist in a Dream,
I think what happened is that your script was so obviously fake the pharmacists gave you a break by not calling the doctor.
Nothing is going to happen to you or your friend, Kansas.
The pharmacist(s) don't even have the script anymore, and they're busy people. The fact they gave you back the script sounds like proof they're hooking you up and not calling the doctor or the cops. If they wanted to get you in trouble, they would have done it then when they had some kind of evidence. They have nothing to go on now.
I very highly doubt either of them will take the trouble to look into it any further.
Take this is a big warning that prescription fraud is serious- it is so not worth going to jail over. You got lucky...twice, keep it that way.
yaw is correct. A friend of mine is a pharmacist and said he really tries to give people a break and not involve LE. He said the retail pharmacy business is so busy if he took the time to call LE and follow up on all of the forged/tampered with scripts, he'd never get any work done and people want their meds "an hour ago". So tell your friend he was a lucky person. My friend also told me he works with a few jerks who "live" to turn in forgers/tamperes. Some kind of ego/power thing. Your friend lucked out "twice", I'd say good odds.
