I have been trying to figure this out. I look at the different GENERIC pain medications on the NWW site. NWW doesn't say what the strengths are after the names.
I have a 2001 PDR. I see Vicodin HP is 10/660 and Vicodin ES is 7.5/750 in the PDR. The PDR really isn't clear to me on the following. I'm wondering what really is the difference between generic Norco 7.5 (nothing in PDR for APAP), Loratab 7.5/500 and Loracet 10/650. Do you think that Norco, loratab and loracet are basically the same if they all have the same strengths? I sure hope I'm making sense here! I just know there are a few of you out there that has answers for me!

I'm not sure I completely understand you.
Norco is always 325 mg of APAP.
Lortab is always 500 mg of APAP.
Lorcet is always 650 mg of APAP.
Vicodin is 5/500, Vicodin ES is 7.5/750, and Vicodin HP is 10/660.
Is that what you meant?

Yawkaw has it right on; I feel from taking different ones throughout my pain history that, the less APAP, the better, but I could be wrong. That's just the way it has affected me.

Thanks Yawkaw3, that was very helpful to have it written out in that way, so you can see how much acetominophen is in each of those medications.
And then the number (5, 7.5, 10, ? 2.5) following the name (Lortab, etc.) tells how much hydrocodone the product contains.
But I still think it's a little confusing, because I'm not sure if all of these meds (Norco, Lortab, and Lorcet) come in all of the possible hydrocodone amounts (2.5, 5, 7.5, and 10). [Not to forget Vicoprofen, which I think comes only as 7.5 mg hydro with 200 mg ibuprofen; is there a generic Vicoprofen or only brand name?]
It would be even more helpful if you could clarify the hydrocodone strengths available with the three meds you mentioned (Norco, Lortab, Lorcet).
Thanks again!
