that may be stronger than SOMA. I'm tired of having to take 6 SOMAS FOR them to work.

i was told by both an MD, and a shrink, that valium is the BEST muscle relaxer there is, i agree. it is too bad it was prescribed like candy back when... and now it's not prescribed at all, or rarely. but it is a good muscle relaxer.

Flexeril works pretty well also. Valium is preferred by patients because it is centrally acting and has effects on the cns, but all in all Flexeril works pretty well if you wanted to try that.

I have to agree, Flexeril seems to work better for me and my daughter than Soma although it makes me a little drowsy, soma doesn't, but thats ok cuz Im a chronic insomniac anyway.

One more vote for flexeril. Oddly enough it helps with my migraines as well. I do prefer valiums but I dont like to take more than 1-2 a week to avoid addiciton.

I take flexeril for tension headaches and the tightness in my neck. I could never get it to go away until I took the flexeril..it made the muscle tightness go away completely and when the pain came back it wasn't as bad. Flexeril didn't make me feel anything except tired...but it helped the muscles definitely! And I didn't have to take more for it to work continually.

I take Flexeril. My PCP gives it to me for my tension headaches and muscle stiffness. Alone it isn't that great, but when I take it with my hydro, it really helps, as well as preventing rebound headaches. Soma works for me, but makes me too tired.

tired doesn't begin to describe what Flexeril does to me, it almost paralyzes me. i guess that means my muscles are relaxed. but IMHO they're much too relaxed. i can't move.

I've heard other people say that Flexeril totally wipes them out too, but for me it's just a slight drowsy effect but I am able to work and function normally.
