I have been prescribed ativan in the past for anxiety, but came across this bottle of liqid lorazapam somebody was cleaning out there medicine cabinet and gave it to m.
It is a 30 ml bottle, 2mg/ml It just expired so it is probably still good. the problem is when i take one or 2 droppers, 4mgs. It does absolutely nothing. I don't take benzos very often so I can't have much of of a tolerance.
Now my question is would it be safe to try to iv the drug.
It does not say anywhere on the bottle not for iv use, and i know there are some kinds of lorazapam they do this with.
Thanks in advance for anyfeedback
I'm no doctor, but that sounds extremely dangerous to me. Meds meant to be taken orally are totally different in their ingredients than ones that are for IV use. For example, that liquid Ativan probably has a lot of corn syrup or something in it that you DO NOT want going into your veins. I would never even consider such a thing.
NO, NO, NO! don't IV it. could be very gross. not even because you dont know the exact dosage to push into you, but the corn syrup thing is very true. i'm sure there are a lot of inactive ingredients in their that you dont want to push into your veins. the rest of your body serves as a filter system for what gets into your blood stream and when you bypass those filters and put things directly into your veins you could regret it tremendously! you could get really sick. just buy some pills. it's better that way.
