Supposedly, Benedryl will help curb the cravings for ciggis while taking pain medication.
Oh, and this is not just a theory, it a real physiological effect, that opiate medication increases cravings for nicotine. I've also heard the bloodsugar connection.

Benedryl knocks me out cold. That would be one way to not smoke so much I guess. LOL But, I don't wanna quit. Not yet anyway. My dad smoked 3 packs a day and lived to be 86 and my mother never smoked and passed away at 61. Go figure...

I had recently quit smoking cigarettes after having smoked for 15 years and as soon as I hurt my back, the pain meds caused me to crave cigarettes much, much worse and I quickly broke down and started smoking again.

You US guys probably know this but just in case you don't,
CIGARETTES is a very posh term for 'FAGS' in the UK.
No Flames or Forest Fires please.

This is a very interesting thread and has answered so many of my questions. I quit smoking in '95 and in '02 had surgery and 8 weeks off work and started up again because the cravings were unbearable but I was taking Vicodin at that time and maybe that was really what set off the cravings. I thought it was because I was stuck at home for 8 weeks and I get really edgy if I cant get out of the house every day at least for a little while. And AvpdMatt, we used to use the term fags for cigs in the US back in the 70's. Haven't really heard them referred to that in some time. I think its a really dated term from decades ago.

I KNOW I am going to regret this, but here goes nothing...
Opiateman
You can't WHAT for 12 hours? (As you will see, you can't use THOSE words on this board...)
Next, WHY in the world would you take 300mgs at once? Hopefully you don't do this often unless you are wanting a siezure issue...
Finally...What exactly does any of this have to do with cigarettes and tramadol?
Basically, I'm not understanding your post AT ALL...What is it you are trying to ask or point out exactly?
