Flaming/Flame Wars
Flaming is reacting to someone's board posting or PM in a hostile manner by publicly chastising the person or bombarding the person with nasty posts or PM's. Flaming may occur to users that engage in behavior that violates what is considered proper board netiquette. A flame war occurs when two or more users flame each other in an escalating manner that threatens to continue unabated. If you notice a flame war developing just notify the moderator or adminitrator and let them handle it. Do not take part in flame wars. If you do you will be banned even if you did not start it :-)

Can daily use of an antihistamine like Benedryl or Phenergan raise your blood
pressure?

Benedryl can raise blood pressure, but Phenergan is an anti-emetic, not an antihistamine. As far as I know, Phenergan does not cause BP to rise.

How high is considered high, as far as blood pressure? I was in to PM doc's a few weeks ago and my BP was 172/117. The nurse kind of got a little nervous and was asking if I was on BP medication. I'm not, but wondering if I should be. I can always tell when my BP is getting high. My head throbs on the left side and I can feel my pulse all over my body, especially in my throat. Funny thing is, I'm only 28. My Mom said when I was a teenager, I always had low BP. Then I started having kids and got pregnancy induced hypertension, but after I delivered, my BP would go down. But in the past year or so I guess it has been creeping up. Wonder if it was higher because I was at the doctors. Does that happen to anyone else, the "white-coat syndrome," I think I've heard it called.

Phenergan: Promethazine hydrochloride, a phenothiazine derivative, possesses antihistaminic, sedative, antimotion-sickness, antiemetic, and anticholinergic effects.

Side Effects: Tachycardia, bradycardia, faintness, dizziness, and increases and decreases in blood pressure .

I can also tell when BP goes up. I get flushed and my face feels hot. Athlough I do not as a regularity have high BP and when I was Pregnant with my last had very low blood pressure.
I did have the pregnancy induced high BP with my first, as well as toxemia.
I was wondering myself what the implications of taking clonidine with hydrocodone might be. I had been told by a nurse that hydro can lower BP, since I presume clonidine (being a BP med) does as well, could it be dangerous to take the two together??
