i have to have a urine drug screen on thursday morning. it's ok if my doc finds hydro in me but i can't have any benzos (xanax and ativan) or Fioricet (butalbital) in my urine.
How many days to I abstain from the benzos and Fioricet to be "clean"?
I remember once a couple of years ago just taking one day off of the Fioricet and the next day drank gallons of water before the test and it came out clean! i wonder if this was a fluke?
If anyone can direct me to the important info needed on metabolization of these meds, i'd greatly appreciate it!

xanax and ativan both have short half lives. Fioricet is APAP/caffiene and butalbital. If you stop now you are Fine.

One way to help clean out your system faster is to use a herb called goldenseal. you can get it at any health food or herb/vitamin store(GNC.etc,etc). that with plenty of water will flush your system in half the time. It also helps for shortining withdrawls(thats what i have used it for) hope this helps. Steve007

thanks for the info! Do you think just 1-2 days without the butalbital (fioricet) would be adequate? The benzos are no biggie and i am not worried about any w/d....

I would be more concerned with the benzos. Their half life is much longer than fiorcet. I know you mentioned xanax and ativan. I believe xanax can be detected in a drug screen up to one week after taking your last dose.
Don't waste your $$$ on goldenseal or any other like product, time and lots of water are the only things that will help you.

thanks for the advice....last test i had to do a few years ago, I bought this "detox" liquid extract stuff at the health food store...supposed to clean liver, etc. and used it with TONS of water and my test came out clean! Intend to do that this time.
However, from the research i've done thus far, xanax/ativan have much shorter plasma half lives than butalbital at 35 hours. How does this affect urine detection?

Have you checked Jeff Nightbyrds web site? He's the "drug test father" who has great adivse on drug testing-what does and does not work-along with the time every drug you can imagine stays in your body. He has his own lab and does that type of work for lots of companys. Hope this helps-hope

what about Hydro???...What if you dont want them to find Hydro in your system....whats the best way to get rid of this....???...thanks BD

The thing with drinking water is that it's not really flushing your system out. Don't waste your time drinking water days before it does NOT help. Only drinking lots of water the day of your test. Preferably about 4 hrs before. What the water is actually doinng is diluting your urine, therefore making any concentrations of a substance in your system diluted, and not causing a positive result. Some companies will also test your urine to see if it has in fact been dilluted. To test for that they will check the amount of creatine in the urine. The more diluted the urine is the less creatine thier is in the urine, so in order to not fail a drug test for having a diluted urine (and some places will say that a diluted urine is grounds for a positive result) you need to take a creatine supplement available at any health food store. Creatine is also in red meats so someone who eats a lot of red meat probally wouldn't have to take a supplement.
With hydro and oxy these are less tested for. I believe they only get tested for on the ten panel test. Less employers use those since they are more exspensive. Most use the standard five panel test which test for THC, Cocaine, PCP, Heroine, and Meth. But also remeber that if you are using codiene it can show up on the five panel test because the body converts aproximently 10% of codiene to morphine, which they do test for, then you would get a positve result.

If you're going to flush the day of with water, take a mutlti vitamin a few hours before the test.
Some tests can detect the kits you buy as well.

I forgot to add that. The vitamins will add the color to your urine.

Right right right....But what is the BEST WAY to get rid of Hydro.....does anyone have success getting this done??? Or passing a test with out having to list the med.....PLEASE HELP...thanks

For the most info on this subject go to neonjoint.com. They have the most information then I have seen any where about drug testing, how to pass, how long everthing stays in your system, and how to alter a test.
You will not find better info at any other site. This guy has pages upon pages devoted to drug testing.
