Hello. Anyone know of a reasonably-priced source for this outrageously expensive heart med? I've no insurance as of this writing (hopefully, this will change soon), and Walgreens just nailed me to the tune of nearly $150 for a month's supply. Yikes!
I'd like to forego it, but my cardiologist told me it was imperative that I take Plavix for at least six months, possibly longer, following the angioplasties, insertion of the stents, et al.
Sorry to bore ya all. Hope this is the right forum.
Thanks, kids.

I don't know about this drug, but I was going to suggest asking your cardiologist for samples. I know when I've been in a pinch, my kids can get a months supply of their asthma meds from their dr. I spend around $400 every 3 months on copays from my insurance co and that's not always easy to come by.
Just a suggestion.

See if there is a costco in your area. You cannot call them any more to get a price quote as they are overrun with calls. But, if you look at their website, it has a general idea. You DO NOT have to be amember to go to costco for prescriptions and other health items. It was a little known secret till the news blurted it out, hence the reason they are overrun with phone calls. If not a costco, check out Sam's. Sam's was more expensive on one of my meds than Eckerd's though, so you just have to check. It's worth a shot since your'e paying cash for this stuff. Also, if the script puts you in financial strain try going to www.needymeds.com and dling the form you need for your doc to sign and see what their requirements are for free meds. I did it for a while on 2 of my more expensive meds (Effexor and Depakote). it takes a while to get going though. good luck.
